Old character house in a nice safe area. Our room has the bathroom outside but we were the only one using that bathroom. There was another room with insuite bathroom. Walking distance to a metro station and very nice area called Hochelaga. The backyard was super nice to hang out at night. Beds were comfortable and they installed AC the day we were there. Parking is street parking two blocks away.

Great place for a couple who got rained out of our camping trip. Robert is a friendly and courteous host who went above and beyond to make sure we were comfortable. We had a private room with en-suite bathroom, mini fridge and microwave. There were other people staying in the next room, but we barely heard or saw them. Will definitely go back in the future! Merci

The owner is friendly. They have breakfast and the kitchen is clean. But there is no private parking place and it is very hard to find parking spot in the nearest streets.

Our room smelt like smoke, the floor was dirty when we got there, my girlfriend had to ask for a vaccume to clean the floor, we killed 3 bugs in our room, and our clothes smelt like smoke after one night. The only thing that was good was the nice host and the fact that we can make our own breakfast. For anyone who doesn’t like the smell of smoke don’t go there

The place was smelling smoke. Eventhough the rooms where equipped with freshners, it was still there. Add said there was free breakfast we didnt get. Most importantly i was left with minor rashes on my body after 1night sleep. But the host was friendly, supportive and the communication was good (English ). Important attractions where witn in 1.30 hr (using public transport ). Another problem was parking. Its hard to find.

The facilities are nice, spacious room, good bathroom, functional kitchen, long breakfast window time, and friendly manager. However, eventhough you chose a non smoking room you can still smell it everywhere. Aside from that everything is good.

Robert is a really nice man who went above and beyond at every interaction and even got a teddy bear for my daughter. The property is well-maintained and accessible. However, there are two issues I'd like to mention. First, the common areas smell like cigarette smoke. The rooms are clean and have enough air freshener to prevent it from bothering us, but the smell is quite significant in the common areas. The second issue was how the property handled our last day. They claimed that Expedia overbooked us and moved our belongings to another room without ever communicating this to us. When we returned, we found that everything had already been moved. Some of our items were left behind, so we had to ask the property manager to help us retrieve them from the other room. To make things right, they refunded us for our last night.

Belle maison d’hôtes

C’est une maison d’hôtes avec des chambres spacieuses dont plusieurs comportent des salles de bain privées. Toutefois, il faut être silencieux à partir d’une certaine heure, car elles ne sont pas insonorisées. On peut se préparer un petit-déjeuner inclus dans la cuisine commune, mais il n’y a aucun fruit ou jus de fruit; le petit-déjeuner est de type continental avec l’ajout d’une possibilité de cuisson des œufs. Toutefois, on doit laver notre vaisselle. Pour le centre-ville de la métropole, c’est un endroit parfait et à bon prix où se loger.

Maison Montplaisir, was misrepresented on website

Firstly, the rooms are not a reflection of the photographs displayed, and we were placed in a room that did not have direct access to a bathroom, but an outside bathroom; having expressed our reservations on the use of the said bathroom by other individuals our room was switched to another room, that clearly was not ready for accommodation, as it was never cleaned. Secondly, the bed linens, sofa bed coverings were extremely filthy, the ‘hand’ soap in the dirty and uncleaned bathroom had no substance and was basically water to wash our hands. The neighborhood [property location]is overrun by vagrants, drug addicts who loiter on the front porch and within 2 feet of the property, quite an unsafe environment for a Bed and Breakfast facility, especially to unsuspecting guests from another country. We felt unsafe due to the airconditioned unit in the room, which exposed us to the vagrants and drug addicts roaming the front the premises and the streets as the window was open to facilitate the ‘portable’ air condition unit. I am extremely disappointed that I did not get what I paid for and to further exacerbate the issue, parking was advertised as an amenity, and it was on that basis that this booking was predicated, which was a total farce, as I was advised by the Manager Robert to park up the road. Our car vandalised, as the back rear glass of my car was destroyed. We had to return ASAP to the US as we could not drive a car that was now unsafe and unsecured. Terrifying ordeal!
