Disappointing Stay in the “Goldfinch” Room — Not W

I would strongly advise against booking the Goldfinch room. Calling it a "luxury" room is incredibly misleading. At just 200 square feet, a full third is taken up by the bathroom, leaving the sleeping area feeling more like a phone booth—for those who remember phone booths. There’s no closet, not even a coat hook. The bed is about as comfortable as a futon—firm, unyielding, and far from restful. To make things worse, the bed doesn’t even face the television (which hardly matters, since the only channels available were infomercials). The room’s single window and its glass front door both face the lobby entrance, with bright lights shining through the blinds all night. It’s noisy, lacks privacy, and feels more like an afterthought than a guest room. I later discovered that a room more than twice the size was just $10 more, which made the whole experience feel like a complete ripoff. This was a textbook case of putting lipstick on a pig: glossy description, deeply flawed execution. I won’t be staying again—and I suggest you don’t either.

The property was beautiful..but the railroad goes RIGHT BY the property. If you sleep light, then you would want to pass on this property. But our property (the pine treehouse) was gorgeous!

Please improve your breakfast offerings. Having breakfast delivered to your room was special. Please provide lights in the parking lot. Even though you posted signs that the hotel bears no responsibility, it was difficult to retrieve items from car when it's pitch black.

This place is the best!! I was driving from Washington to central California and needed a place to stay about halfway. As soon as I arrived, I was greeted by two of the sweetest little cats, which was perfect as I’d been missing my fur babies. This place is pet friendly, safe and secluded, and has such a nice atmosphere. I felt very comfortable and my car was safe as well (my parking spot was visible from my room’s window, though there didn’t seem to be any threats to vehicles anyhow). The staff is excellent, and the room has everything you need, including a coffee maker, mini fridge, bathtub, and a nice little patio area where I could sit and pet the cats. Overall, I would give this place a 20 out of 10 if I could. I will definitely be staying here again!!
