An oasis in the middle of Mumbai

Despite reading some of the other reviews on this site, I decided to book this hotel due to its location and was pleasantly surprised to find a clean, modern hotel and friendly hotel. On arrival I was offered and upgrade, which proved to a large modern room, with all amenities and a view of the city. Bottled water, a daily news paper, international television and internet are provided gratis. The staff are friendly, courteous and helpful. The location of the hotel, although convenient for me, was pretty rough and I would not advise walking around the district. But for the more adventurous there is a shopping mall, KFC and MacDonald's opposite. It has to be said that breakfast was not wonderful and the service was slow, however with a little perseverance you can get a couple of eggs freshly cooked and toast, along with fruit juice and porridge, so you will not starve. I have seen adverse comments about the staff expecting tips, I did not experience this, but it India and the staff are not well paid, so if they go out of their way to help you, it is expected that you will tip and 50 rupees here or there is very little money.
