We stayed here for two nights for our anniversary trip away and cannot recommend Hotel Deutsche Eiche enough! The Suite was beautiful, really spacious and fantastic amenities. It's in a great location, with lots of restaurants nearby and less than a five minute walk to the Viktualienmarkt. The staff were really welcoming and chatty. The rooftop bar was a great addition too with views over Munich.

Perfect spot in Munich!

This is an ideal spot for a stay in Munich. It’s a short walk to the Viktualienmarkt and an easy to walk to Marienplatz and many of the must-visit sights. Our room was very comfortable, very clean and well-appointed with a great little balcony. We loved being able to have the door open. We had a terrific late night dinner in the hotel restaurant too - it was excellent. There is a great little market just around the corner for water bottles, snacks, etc. This is a great place to stay!

Very nice!

Highly recommend! I will come back to this hotel for sure. So nice having a good sized bathroom and shower. Really liked the nicer linens. The floors were beautiful. Super close to the tram stop and walking distance to everything we wanted to see.

Unlike in many other situations where the top floor would mean peace and quiet, the top floor of this hotel is directly below the terrace bar and is therefore plagued by the sounds of furniture scraping across the ceiling above. Additionally, the top floor hallway and upper floor stair wells are cloaked in cigarette stench from people coming and going from the terrace. Otherwise, the room was clean, and well updated, but i wouldn't stay here again.

Booking issues

The apartment we booked through this hotel was great, spacious, in a good location. The beds were so so but everything else was comfortable. On two different occasions we encountered things with the hotel which didn’t align with our hotels.com booking. So I would not trust what the booking company tells you. We booked a room for 3 people and were told the room only slept 2 and then when we arrived we were told that parking needed to be reserved ahead of time while hotels.com just says parking is available. This caused quite a chaotic check in while we double parked to unload bags, tried to find street parking etc. but the staff did try to help the best they could. Overall I’d say the hotel was good but just don’t book through hotels.com

The location was excellent but the downsides were the style of the hotel. The red lights in the corridor wasn’t to my taste (sorry but felt slightly on the seedy side) and I didn’t like that they had a “men only’ sauna. I know it is LBGT friendly, which I think is great, but this hotel seemed to be tailored more to gay men.
