Onson Experience and More

Clean but needed vacuuming under bed and around tv. Convenient to train station for touring and close to shopping and a variety of restaurants, with onson Lots of complimentary nice touches-toothbrushes, tips, shavers, ice cream and late nite noodles. The light control was poor-automatic light came on bright, whenever you got close to the entry and sink (annoying at night).

Loved our stay! Hope to go back again someday

I loved this hotel! I tried to book an additional night we enjoyed it so much but they were fully booked. Room is spacious for a Japanese hotel in this price range. Easy to open and store my luggage in the seating area in our room, which isn’t common for a double twin room. We arrived early to go to the snow monkey park and the hotel stowed our luggage and had brought it up to our room by the time we came back to check in. Very thoughtful. Check in was easy for an English speaker like me. Room was lovely and clean. Provided lounge wear was so comfortable! Shower caulking was showing some mildew but I was using the onsen shower areas and never used the one if our room since I made full use of the onsen twice during our stay, and that was immaculate. Beautiful indoor and outdoor baths! Bring some change for the strawberry milk vending machine. Breakfast was fantastic. Delicious and great variety. Convenient location near the train station. Walkable to Zenkoji, which I enjoyed so I could explore the neighborhood, but was to catch the bus to the temple too. Have exact change for the bus!

This was my first stay at a Dormy Inn, and I will certainly consider them again if there's one where I'm staying in Japan. The twin room was very spacious for the price. The onsen/bath on-site was always clean, though be conscious of the posted "busy times". Complimentary ice cream or yogurt was a nice plus. Staff at the desk were very helpful and were willing to use translate apps to navigate language barriers. Location is very close to Nagano Station and a convenience store.

The Dormy Inn is a great hotel with a lovely onsen and some special extras like ramen soup late ant night and ice creams to have after your onsen. The staff were very friendly and although the rooms are small they were clean. Breakfast had a good variety but mainly Japanese dishes.

Great service! English speaking staff. Tasty Asian breakfast buffet featuring local dishes. Free midnight ramen, juice and coffee. Water bottle refill station. Nice onsen (separate guys & girls) with fully stocked toiletries. Short walk to train station — very easy with luggage.

The hotel was in the best location. Very close to the train station, restaurants and shops. Everything you needed. Room was very clean and comfortable. Was good having the basin outside the bathroom. Shower was small and very steamy as no ventilation. Very convenient location to see snow monkeys and go skiing. On site Onsen was great.

Excellent mid-range hotel with an onsen

First off, being right across the street from the station is a big plus in the dead of winter. This is a relatively small hotel with smallish rooms, but very capable overall. Nice little touches like nice pajamas and slippers, an onsen that is free to use, two massage chairs, free ice cream treats all day, and free late night soba. Service is also very good. Highly recommended.
