Room 9 view and room 5 review

So it’s an older place. The stove needed updating (room 5 had a 1970 something stove that the burners barely worked on unless on high, which then set the smoke detector off. Also the oven would never heat up to use!) The beds are only full sized double beds and aren’t that comfortable. The rooms were very clean though. Room 9 was very nice but it was not an efficiency. It had a nice balcony and the best ocean view for the second floor. The hotel is smoke free but my neighbors smoked a bunch of weed and it stunk up our rooms. The indoor pool is small and is kept locked with key card. It is heated and the hot tub is large and works well.

This place was awesome had everything you need for a beach trip the only down side was the fact that the pools was closed for maintenance but honestly i came for the ocean not a pool... Also in grate location shops restaurants and the Pier all with in walking distance and you honestly cant ask for a better view......

Cold and tired

I was put in a room with no heat. When I tried to get in the hot shower, the steam set off the smoke alarm 😞 the attendant came out and I told him it was cold and no heat was in the room but he offered no alternative I was a late arrival and so tired that I crawled under the covers and went to sleep but it was so cold when I got up and a hot shower just set off the alarm again. I was very disappointed in the accommodation and work down here all the time but I won’t book here again.

Loved the blue heron! We stay here every time we’re in obx! It is always fabulous! The staff is amazing only thing that kinda sucked was the pool was closed for maintenance. Other than that it was truly amazing as always

The indoor pool and hotub was definitely a game changer. The motel is slowly deteriorating and you see that in places but it had no bearing on the quality of our stay. I will definitely be coming back.

Room was very clean and comfortable. Loved the indoor hot tub. Warmest heated pool I’ve ever been in. My only complaint is the loud fan in the pool area. Had to shout to talk. Would have spent more time there if it weren’t for the fan. Bonus is that they waved the pet fee during Christmas. We will use hotel again in the future.

we loved the property! although a little older, and the walk up the stairs to the third floor was a little tiring. when we looked out from the balcony on to the ocean and seashore we were mesmerized by the beauty. Sound of the waves coming to shore, was and is so peaceful and centering. Large room, comfortable bed and just so peaceful and beautiful wow. WE didn't want to leave.

I didnt3 feel safe. There were some unsavory-looking characters there. 1st night someone tried the backdoor handle, then knocked ...2nd night a loud intoxicated man tried to get someone in next room to open the door by yelling every "female" curse word known to sailors! It scared me. I will never stay there again!

Perfect location with easy access to the beach. Spacious room. Nice balcony. But that concludes the positive things. The hotel needs A LOT of repairs that are being neglected. Holes in the walls, paint peeling off, broken balcony door latch, very low water pressure. The bed was uncomfortable & neither my spouse or I got much sleep, as a result. The lights on the exterior hallway stay on all night & shine into the room making it too bright at night. No housekeeping. And despite how spacious the room was there was only one tiny mirror, up against the corner above a tiny sink in the bathroom, not sufficient if there is more than one guest in the room or if you have any toiletries you need a decent space for. Great potential, if it's ever under new ownership by someone who cares about making their guests comfortable & feeling at home.

Economy Room Stay

The economy room is right over the office by the road and not connected to the rest of the motel. It was very comfortable and affordable, though not the most picturesque location. The hot tub was wonderful in the winter. Access to the beach was very easy.
