I had a very disappointing experience at Argyle Grand Hotel Nairobi Airport.
When I arrived at Jomo Kenyatta International Airport, I waited for over two hours for the hotel’s airport shuttle. During that time, I called and emailed the front desk multiple times, but no one responded or called back. Eventually, I had to take a taxi to the hotel at my own expense.
When I arrived, my bank card failed to work on their payment machine during check-in. I offered to return to the airport to withdraw cash, but while waiting for the hotel’s free shuttle at around 2:00 a.m., I saw their driver taking another guest to the airport while I was left standing in the cold.
I finally rebooked the same hotel online through Expedia, and the payment worked immediately. However, by the time I checked in, it was already close to morning — completely defeating the purpose of my stay, as I had booked the room to rest before my 6:00 a.m. connecting flight.
Overall, the experience was frustrating, poorly managed, and unprofessional. I would strongly urge the hotel to improve its shuttle coordination and guest communication.
