Little communication during check in, although we had never stayed before. Hot tub out of service and no notification. Pool sensor broke and access to the pool was impossible for the whole morning. Our shower wouldnt drain properly, they "fixed it" but the problem remained. We attempted to get a quick dinner at the Bistro downstairs, simple .eals were selected and it took over an hour to get our food, baked mac and cheese was not baked and has no seasoning, chicken fingers were overcooked and dry. Very disappointing for a hotel restaurant. Upon check out they were unable to take multiple payment methods so the adults could split the room costs. Then they charged 2 cards the full amount of the stay. Still waiting to see the deposit returned from the stay as well. Needless to say, we will not be going back.

Hotel was fine. Just like any other Courtyard. Bed comfortable. Parking was a nightmare. I drove around for 40 minutes in two lots trying to secure a spot. Finally found one downstairs where there was many spots only to find that the elevators have been turned off at 4:30pm. It also seems that people are living in the staircases in the main parkade. I felt very uncomfortable walking back through early the following morning. Over all the hotel is just fine but the parking situation is just terrible.

The lobby lounge was classy, contemporary and professional. Happy Hour deal. It was perfect for providing options for a quick bite right on site at Check-In. It should be promoted to guests in the pre-check-in communication.

Pros- good for overnight stay, clean, walkable distance to a strip mall, big rooms, Cons- does not do housekeeping every day, no free breakfast; no fresh drinks in am, very small basket of fruits in lobby and water; Best Western does it much better; worst of all, they charge parking in a lot across the street for $10 a night; small swimming pool and hot tub is out of order

Fix your TVs. They have an option to connect to HDMI 2 that doesnt work and you have to mess with the whole system and get a universal remote just to make your own things work. Requested service for it that never arrived or knocked on the door at all. Rooms were clean, bathroom was really nice, but hard to give a good review when our main form of entertainment was so rough to get.

Adequate stay with unique features.

Thought I would give this newer hotel a go as it was reasonably priced during low-peak season. Only hotel in Nanaimo with a pool and hot tub (hot tub was under maintenance so unfortunately, was unable to enjoy). There were some well-thought out features of the hotels, as well as some improvements needed during my stay. First, the Bistro lounge is very well laid out with a variety of seating styles. The dining booths with the individual TVs was a unique touch. I enjoyed breakfast and dinner (not open for lunch) and the food is tasty. Counter service was a bit of an inconvenience in an otherwise smooth dining experience. The gym is fantastic. Would like to see a touchless water dispenser somewhere else other than the gym. I did not enjoy the layout of my room. The end of the bed is facing the window that has the AC/heating unit on that side and it is very uncomfortable having air blow directly onto you. The thermastat fan also doesn't have a full off switch, and it would turn on during the night, which is very disruptive. Normally beds are laid perpendicular to the window wall which would have been more comfortable.
