Sleek and stylish comfort in a safe and popular area in Naples! Extremely clean and very modern once you get past the ground floor entrance to what appears to be an older apartment building. The Matilde Hotel is located on the second floor (corresponding to the first floor above the ground floor in Europe). Buzz yourself in, take the elevator or stairs up one floor and you will find yourself in a transformed and completely modern hotel with large, spacious rooms and the best showers and water pressure we experienced in our 20 days of traveling through southern Italy. The bed was extremely comfortable. A very hospitable staff, Anna at the front desk in particular. Breakfast was plentiful and delicious; they even packed a breakfast box for our early morning departure. Some of the rooms face a busy pedestrian shopping street but we were not bothered by the noise, which seemed muffled by pretty good soundproofing. Naples is a big gritty city; the Matilde Hotel made our stay a delight! Highly recommended!

This is one of the loudest hotels I’ve ever stayed in. The staff is wonderful. However, the room sits over an open area outdoor mall that is open all night. There is yelling, skateboarding, and loud nightlife that NEVER stops. Sleeping is impossible.earplugs help but not enough. It was a very restless three days.

The property itself was fantastic inside; however, it is very hard to find and access and when we arrived the outdoor areas surrounding the hotel were littered with trash due to the Napoli soccer celebration. The actual entrance to the hotel isn’t clearly marked and one has to take a very small elevator up one floor to get to the lobby. For those arriving, please know that you need to pay a small fee with coins to use the elevator. The staff was very kind and helpful once inside and the room was gorgeous. Breakfast was delicious.

It was a lovely room and great location. The staff were friendly and always helpful. Great restaurant recommendations. We had an excellent meal at Terrazza Calabritto. Nice breakfast and they were thoughtful in providing a portable breakfast when we went on an early outing. Napoli is an active and exciting city and there was always noise and people; even at night. So you must enjoy that!

This hotel was beautiful and modern and the staff were so kind and professional. The hotel is based in a historical building which is also a shopping centre so there would be some noise up to 1am but that’s something that really can’t be helped. The hotel was very clean and there were good amenities - I also found the bed to be very comfortable which is a bonus because it can take some time to adjust to a hotel bed. The location is excellent and very close to the key tourist attractions and metro stations if you need to use.

The hotel and hotel staff were outstanding; modern, clean, and the breakfast was wonderful. We had difficulty finding the entrance when we first arrived, but the front desk staff came out to show us the way in. You enter the hotel through a small alley that seemed a bit rough at first, but we had no problems at all while we were there. It has easy access to taxis and public transportation.

Pour service, not recommended.

Despite ordering the room for 3 people (2+1) we got the double room. The time was almost 12 am. We were tired after the long flight. The guy on reception explained that I ordered the room for the couple and didn’t asked (!!) another bed. After the long checks and discussion with the manager we got the room we ordered originally (sleeping 3 people). At the checkout they asked us to to pay spare 50 euro for the room, despite I ordered it originally. Pour service. Not recommended,

Touched by the care taken to their guests

Couldn't be better. The staff went out of their ways to best help their guests. Carmine and Anna were extremely helpful. They are not only doing daily business but showed they really care about us. Not only did they helped arrange a day tour for us aling the Amalfi coast, make multiple phone calls to work out a delivery problem for me, Carmine also reached out to see if the elder needed anything when being left alone to rest in hotel when I was out. And the rest staff also all tried their best to optimize our experience. I'm truly touched by their dedication. A big THANK YOU!

Do not recommend staying here. While the location of the hotel is close to the Spanish Quarters, the hotel entrance itself is not well located. It is in an alley that is not well lit for safety for individuals or women in particular accessing it alone. The entrance is not very accessible, including the very small, coin operated elevator which poses a challenge for check-in/out with luggage (hotel provides coin). The room itself was dirty, lots of hair on the floor of the bathroom. For the price and “4 star” rating, it did not meet expectations.
