The view from our room of the ocean was BEAUTIFUL, the showers were amazing (waterfall shower heads were lovely!), food was good, and many of the staff were very nice. However, we had some substantial issues, including: 1. Secondhand cigarette smoke: impossible to get away from in most outdoor areas. Also, starting shortly before noon the pool area gets VERY loud, with music blasting at full volume for about six hours straight. The pool closes at 6 pm, which was a bummer, especially because... 2. ...The hotel is NOT on a swimming beach: this should be clearer in the property description. You can take a ~30 minute walk down Cabbage Beach to a breakwater where it is safe to swim, but we had to ask several staff people before we found that out. 3. Lack of first aid supplies: we were attacked by dogs on a beach that a staff member recommended, and when we returned to the hotel and asked for first aid supplies, almost none were available. Folks on staff that day were great and found everything they could, but it's pretty bad that management at a hotel of this size doesn't ensure that a full first aid kit is available on the premises. I'm still giving this three stars because the location was beautiful and before 10 am the pool area is relatively peaceful and (mostly) cigarette smoke free, and because for those who enjoy super loud, super SUPER boozy, spring break bash vibes this could be just the thing. For me though, for the price the above three issues are a dealbreaker.

This was our first experience at an all-inclusive and we could not have made a better choice! The food, the hotel and the staff were all amazing! The hotel was right on the beach and had two amazing pools! The hotel staff were extremely friendly and so helpful!

We stayed a week and had a great time. The food was great as well as service. We really enjoyed the pool and beach. The bars were great but we would have liked more beer options. Overall a great place to stay.

Loved our week at RUI. The staff was friendly and welcoming from minute 1. Facility was clean and well maintained. We tried all the restaurants and they were all great. Spent time in pools and on beach and at the shows several times. They even decorated the room and left a birthday cake for my friend. Area around the resort was also nice and walkable to marina for excursions.

Good bits and not-so-good bits.

The staff were very helpful and friendly - couldn't do enough for you. A minor problem in our room got resolved swiftly. The food was plentiful, with lots of choice - I would defy anyone to fail to find something they liked! And the (free) wine was perfectly acceptable. But there were some drawbacks.....maybe we were unlucky, but during the weekend we stayed there, the "entertainment" (around the pool during the day) was so noisy, we couldn't hear ourselves think! And we were down on the beach.....It went on for what felt like hours, and we weren't the only people complaining. Another problem was that the north east corner of the hotel overlooked four very large (air conditioning?) fans, outside on the ground, making a noise night and day, which disturbed us on the 11th floor. Once again, others complained, and at least one family got their room changed as a result. The final significant problem was how cold the rooms and corridors were in the hotel - I turned our air con off when we arrived, but it still took three days to warm up enough to make it comfortable, and I didn't expect to need two blankets in Nassau in March! We did venture downtown Nassau, but tbh it was a bit spoilt by the massive cruise ships and their passengers (obviously not the fault of the hotel). Taxis are plentiful; we actually tried the local buses (jitneys) which, albeit a bit rickety, were full of lots of friendly people helping us find our stop.
