Overall it was a good value for money deal. I wish there was a fan in the room to avoid excessive use of AC. TV plan was expired during our whole stay. Walking distance to beach. A lot of food locations nearby.
The bathroom hadn’t been cleaned for months. The limescale on the chrome was actually thicker than the chrome plating. I had a cockroach run across my foot bigger than my big toe that then run up the bed leg to get on the bed. He became an ex cockroach at that point the TV didn’t work. There was no hot water. There was no wardrobe or Chester drawers to put your clothes in this place is the Pitts. I couldn’t leave straight away it was too late but I did walk along to hotels down and they had a room. I could move into the next day so I spent one night and then moved all my stuff to buildings down to the next hotel, I did explain to The owner that the condition of the room was really not acceptable and he should employ a cleaner. I tried to contact Hotels.com to complain that just got put on hold from an AI answering machine and could not get through to a human to make a physical complaint and ask for a reimbursement as I was not going to stay in such a disgusting hotel. I’ve got no reply from Hotels.com show this will be the last time that I use that company I will now travel by Airbnb who answer the phone when you contact them I’m English. I am in Sri Lanka for one month and I was going to stay for one week in four hotels and then I’m moving on
