I work summers as a contractor at Stennis Space Center in Mississippi, and every time I’m in the area, I choose to stay at the Best Western in Slidell, LA. There’s no question — it’s my go-to place. Not just because it’s a great hotel, but because it consistently exceeds expectations. The entire property has been recently refurbished — clean, cool, and very quiet, making it a perfect place to rest after long days at work. It’s also incredibly convenient: close to restaurants, stores, bars, and practically everything in Slidell. The staff is what truly makes this hotel stand out. Ms. Mary at the front desk is simply amazing — professional, welcoming, and always one step ahead of your needs. She makes you feel at home from the moment you arrive. The whole team is efficient, friendly, and accommodating. Rooms are spotless and cleaned daily. I’ve stayed in many different ones throughout my weeks here, and all are equally well-equipped: comfy beds, strong and hot showers, reliable Wi-Fi, microwaves, fridges, and great A/C units. Everything works, and everything is well-kept. The complimentary breakfast is one of the best I’ve had at any hotel — rotating menus with variety, healthy options, fresh juice, and 24/7 coffee available in the lobby. The pool is clear and refreshing, perfect on hot Louisiana afternoons. There’s always plenty of safe parking, and the neighborhood feels secure and quiet. Everyone were friendly and very helpful. Our room was clean and comfortable. My only complaint is the toilet was very low. We are in our 70's and I have to wear a large knee brace. If the toilets need to stay this low then add a rail on either side. But other than low toilets the Best Western in Slidell was great

Budget hotel with good breakfast

The building is dated and in need of renovations, but for the price relative to nearby properties, it seemed reasonable. Related to the age of the building, the carpet was old and of questionable cleanliness. The beds were comfortable though. The breakfast was good - we had omelettes, biscuits and gravy, along with pastries, bread, cereal, and waffles for the one morning we were there. A more expensive hotel would have a better breakfast, but I can't complain for the price paid. For things that mattered (beds, food), they delivered.

A bit dated but quite. Pillows need to be changed out. Room attendant knocked on door at 9am to try and clean even though do not disturb was in place. Overall, 4-stars
