Everything is walking distance or a streetcar away. Its a quiet area next to everything. Points on that. You will see a lot of people sleeping on the streets, in that street and every street or block near Canal. Property-wise, the air conditioner needs some maintenance. I couldn’t sleep because of a continuous pounding sound it had all night long. They never fixed it. Anyone can go up the rooms as the elevator does not have the access-by-key-only method.

A/C was broken in room upon arrival. Room was 89 degrees. Door wouldnt lock properly, took 2 days of reporting to get fixed leaving our things unsecured. Hotel ran out of toilet paper, blaming it on marathon in the city that day. Hotel is a bit run down and rooms are not cleaned well. The hotel is very nicely located though, walking distance to most major attractions and restaurants.

The hotel is in a convenient location to Bourbon st and restaurants. It’s on the perimeter of the French quarter so is a bit quieter. If you do a hop on hop off bus tour, a stop is just down the street. The staff are kind and helpful. Also the bar happy hour was great!

I'm a IHG member since 2016 this hotel experience being this was my first time in New Orleans was terrible the service horrible, the food cold and horrible, we booked several rooms for our cruise and this hotel was the talk on the boat, I believe you have a new manager at the location and she hired her friends and its going down to the ground. I would to give a great shout out to Alicia she was the best, I will be calling corporate office.

The pictures online of the room did not match the room that I stayed in. None of the furnishings were inside of the room except the beds, TV and TV stand. I asked front desk for a roll of tissue and never received it. Also, there was an issue with the water draining properly in both the shower and sink. The beds were comfy and the hotel was conveniently located 1 block from Canal st. Which was a plus.

The Good, and the Bad!

I didn’t like the La Quinta Inn in Gretna! It was dingy, loud, and the lock to my room did not function. I will never stay there again! The Hotel Indigo was exceptional! Clean, quiet, and excellent location, and it was cheaper in price!

We came in at around 2:00 am due to a flight delay. The front desk guy didn’t seem like he was very helpful. It was we were an inconvenient to him. We were all tired and exhausted from our flight and he was not helpful at all. In the morning, we came down for our breakfast and was told we had to pay for breakfast. I told them that I got the free breakfast with the hotel. We were told to check the front desk. Apparently, the guy who helped us last night, forgot to give us our breakfast voucher for 4 days we were staying there. So, we finally got our voucher and proceeded to go to the breakfast buffet. I ordered coffee and I never receive my coffee. The next day, I ordered coffee and they forgot to give me my creamer. The breakfast was bland, very basic. It was the same breakfast option everyday. And the service was bland. Overall, it felt like no on cares about customer service in that hotel. The hotel was very beautiful, but the bad customer service, the very thin walls, and the low water pressure made it bad. As a platinum member, I go to a lot of different hotel. This one was not a good experience.

My stay at Hotel Indigo New Orleans French Quarter was nothing short of amazing. I was placed on the top floor of the 10-story building, and the view from my window gave me a stunning vantage point over Canal Street — it was a visual experience that set the tone for the entire trip. The ambiance of the room, the comfort of the bed, and the attention to detail made this one of the most enjoyable hotel stays I’ve had in a long time. The staff were welcoming, and the atmosphere throughout the property felt effortlessly vibrant and relaxed. To be clear, my issue was not with the hotel itself, but with how the booking was handled through Expedia. That said, I wouldn’t hesitate to return to this property again — next time, I’ll just be more cautious about who I book through.
