Great property in Manhattan for a good price!! Read some of the other reviews and had some concerns but I was completely satisfied with my stay at the Empire. Room is small but to be expected for New York. Property was clean and we felt safe while staying there. Staff were helpful and we would definitely stay here again.

The location was superb! Little pool and gym. Staff very friendlies the only lady in reception didnt explain abou the guest extra charge. A delightful, comfortable stay in the heart of Manhattan. The Empire Hotel’s location is unbeatable—nestled near Columbus Circle and the Upper West Side, it offers easy access to Central Park, Lincoln Center, and Broadway. The lobby is a visual treat, with striking artwork on the second floor and plenty of lounge chairs for relaxing or people-watching. Our standard room was compact but manageable for two travelers. While the bathroom door handle was a bit finicky (closing it required a noisy bang), and the carpets showed some wear with a faint mustiness in the hallways, these were minor quirks in an otherwise pleasant experience. What truly elevated our stay was the staff—bellhops, housekeeping, and front desk were all exceptionally friendly and accommodating. Having convenient access to the Empire Rooftop Hotel and Bar (with a reservation) was a bonus, offering a stylish spot to unwind above the city. Overall, a solid choice for anyone seeking a central, character-rich hotel with great service and a touch of old New York flair.

The property lobby was beautiful, however the rooms and hallways were disappointing. Example, mould around the window, wallpaper falling down the window, armour door falling off, washroom vanity door falling, fridge not working. We were also promised a king size bed, and was given a queen. All in all the aesthetic was disappointing and didn’t live up the reviews that we had seen/ read online.

Overall it was a nice property and great location for our purposes. My only negative was the size of the bathroom. There is barely enough room to wipe your behind between the wall and vanity. A larger person would struggle badly.

I was very disappointed with the room. It smelled like mold and mildew, the paint was peeling, the curtains were broken and could not open, and the bathroom is in desperate need of a renovation/update. It also very dark with poor lighting. The staff were great and accommodating and the area is fantastic but I wouldn’t stay here again.
