Upon arrival, refrigerator not working, blackout shades broken, no toiletries, had to ask. Also, no way to make coffee or tea in the room. With no inhouse cafe, we had to go off premises for breakfast or beverage.

We had a perfect stay at the Empire Hotel! We came in for my son’s audition at Juliard. The location couldn’t have been better. We were right across the street from Lincoln Center. There are many places to eat in easy walking distance. The hotel staff was very helpful. Definitely recommend!

I was drawn to this location due to convenient proximity to the ballet and the rooftop lounge in the summer. A plus that the Empire is featured in one of my favorite shows (Gossip Girl). However, as a young woman who travels alone I would prefer if the elevators required room keys for access as an added layer of security, even though the UWS and Lincoln Center is generally a very safe place to stay

the place was a little outdated…housekeeping and front desk would take hours to deliver something. They were filming a show…so we had to be using the back employee elevator. Something I liked that the environment was cozy and we were close to a subway route!

The property itself was ok. The checkin process was horrible because there was a film going on and they had us go through the employee side which only had 1 working elevator. The hotel room was small but good for the time being. The only problem we had was housekeeping. They never came and when we called to get extra towels and to take our garbage out no one would answer the phone. The staff had an altitude the entire time and I would not stay here again.

It is a good hotel in a very good location but the heat in the room was unbearable. It seems like it was central heating; we could not regulate it in the room. Even with windows open, it was incredibly hot in the room.
