Wonderful

Came to spend a few days in the city with our kids and meet some family- lovely hotel, friendly welcoming staff. The room was much larger than I expected, very clean and amazing view of Central Park. We will definitely stay here again.

The air conditioning does not work. The hotel indicated it was a short-lived event but now that I look deeper I see similar complaints going back months. Not in the rooms, the lobby, the bar—there was area of the hotel that wasn’t stuffy or uncomfortable. The rooms could not get cooler than 74 degrees and we stayed in two different rooms after requesting a room change. The hotel had 6 elevators and only two were working. We waiting 15+ minutes going both ways. This hotel is not a luxury property, hasn’t been invested in in years, and honestly should close. Charging $500/night is total rip off. NYC has too many decent hotels to ever stay here.

Nice enough! The rooftop bar is closed on Sundays and Mondays so keep that in mind when booking your stay. The bellhops are wonderfully helpful and polite but the desk staff tend to have this hilarious superiority complex. I won't stay again only because there are so many great places to stay and staff hospitality is important. Wonderful views!

It was quite modern and new on a very quiet well located street. The rooms are well appointed with a very comfortable bed and a large couch. Everything was exceptionally clean and the staff very lovely. Highly recommend!!

Wonderful location and extremely comfortable room. Only issue was the women working on 5/31 around 10AM at the roof top dining location. She was extremely rude and upset that we used the elevator to get to the floor. My daughter had 3 fractures in her foot and could not walk up the stairs. We were just looking to grab a quick breakfast - not interested in the Flat fee breakfast offered ($75 per person) and she didn't even advise us that the hotel had another restaurant for breakfast. This is the reason I did not provide 5 stars across the board.

Great location and comfortable room except for air conditioning issues which apparently the property is aware of. They will offer a portable ac unit but then you cannot close the blinds in your room completely and it is still not actually cool. Also, the elevators are very slow and occasionally not working. We had to climb 21 flights of stairs after getting stuck in the elevator.

The Park view and convivence of the location to transportation and local amenities was wonderful. I always enjoy the Park Lane. The only hiccup was 3 of the 7 elevators were out. Made for a messy exit. Staff was wonderful though it all, many guest were annoyed and annoying. Laughed our way though it and made it to the airport on time.

Worst hotel stay ever

We chose this hotel because of the proximity to Central Park. However, our stay was very uncomfortable. They failed to inform us that they refuse to turn on the A/C until later into the summer because of the age of the building. So my 1 year old and the rest of us slept in an 80+ degree room. When we turned on the faucets, the water came out dirty. There was also a 30-40min plus wait for the elevators because there was large traffic of those not staying in the hotels but going to the rooftop bar. I’m not exaggerating on the elevator wait. We felt like the staff did not have much empathy for us and didn’t care to address my concerns. When I asked an individual at the desk why the hotel wouldn’t have informed us about the A/C or elevators, he responded “then you wouldn’t have stayed.” Don’t spend your money here and stay at the Ritz next door.
