Excellent, friendly staff. Room was comfortable, bed was great and the location is convenient for walking to restaurants, stores and even theatre if you are able. However this is a very noisy area. With so many hospitals nearby there are tons of sirens blaring. It was great that the windows could be opened but they had to stay closed at night because of the noise. Also, the card keys stopped working many times and had to be rekeyed every few days. That said, the staff was very helpful and wound up giving me a regular key.

Our regular hotel when visiting NYC. The rooms are much bigger than other hotels we've experienced in Manhattan, and the price is consistently a bit less than we expect. Comfortable and clean. Midtown East is very walkable and subway is a few blocks away. Don't miss Spice Symphony, which is right there--so delicious.

The location was perfect. We could walk to subway stations and major attractions like Rockefeller Plaza, St. Patricks Cathedral, and Times Square. There are many restaurant options within walking distance from sit down to carry out. We enjoyed the restaurants across the street for breakfast and dinner. Staff at the hotel were friendly and helpful. The room was clean and perfect for my family of 5. Thank you San Carlos for a great nights sleep after exploring all that NYC has to offer!

Family stay at the San Carlos

It was nice and the suite was great for our family of 6. We appreciated the small kitchen so we could keep a few things for a quick breakfast before seeing the sights! Everybody at the hotel was helpful from beginning to end!

We really enjoyed our stay at the San Carlos. We had a Queen suite with a separate bedroom which was perfect for traveling with a young kid. The room was clean and super comfortable. The location was perfect for us: walking distance to the American Girl doll store, lots of restaurants and an easy cab ride to everything else. Our view was not great but we didn’t really mind because otherwise it was perfect for us.
