Whilst a nice Sonder property, the service provided by Customer Service via the app will make me never book a Sonder again. The entry code did not work on check in. The WiFi did not work. The screen fell off of the window from the apartment upstairs onto my terrace - pretty dangerous. Worse than all they charged me 2 x $1000 charges to my credit card - for a stat that was paid in full three months before. I still have not had this refunded 3 days AFTER my stay. The attitudes, nonchalance and tone of the advisors via the app is nothing short of disgusting. While they have admitted I identified an error at their side, simply refused to escalate to correct the error at their side to resolve. I still await $1000+ for a stay that didn’t even cost that much! I would highly recommend staying away from Sonder, as I will now do having been a pretty frequent visitor in the past.

My room was not cleaned any day, my room code didnt work when I tried to enter and I had to go to the counter 3 times to tell them. They told me to go back and try again. The location was good and the place was quiet.

Feedback on my stay I Paid high price for 4 nights room with terrace Positive: nice Manhatten views, friendly staff Negative: all the rest. where shall I start Cleaning/changing towels/bed linned. Only happened once during the stay. I was on 1st day informed, that it needed to be requested….which I then did. Still nothing happened. Unacceptable. It’s a self service hotel. Expect no service. No in room telephones to call reception etc. Staff: all though friendly, especially front desk were laisy. Mourning in front of guest and showing no interest. Also gave contradictive information . After 5pm, there were nobody in reception, during day up to 4-5 staff…but still they were doing nothing! Hotel: ok’ish. Nothing special. Very std Check-in. Requested same information several times. Lack of professionalism Location: near metro. However area is no eye candy. Had I paid half, i would have considered it reasonable. Prices are in general high in NYC, but for this price there are much better options

Travis and the staff at the Sonders (THE DUTCH) are amazing. This is our third time staying here and we recommend this place to anyone. The views of Manhattan are amazing too. This place is quiet and near to everything you would like to do in NYC.

Very clean, quiet room. Perfect for 4 nights while we were in town for the United Airlines half marathon. Easy access to trains and quick trip into Manhattan. Coffee machine and water on ground floor. Using the mobile app to access the room is very quick and convenient.

Avoid this hotel unless you’re looking for a bare-

Sonder The Dutch in Long Island provides little beyond the room itself. You’re expected to pick up your own towels, they charge extra for room cleaning, and there are no vending machines. When I asked about the broken ice machine, the front assistant casually mentioned that it’s just not plugged in. Additionally, when I inquired about the fine print on their app regarding cleaning charges, the staff claimed those fees don’t apply at this location—an explanation that felt inconsistent and confusing. Unlike other hotels we have stayed at, the high weekend rates carry over into weekdays even though they would offer lower rates for new reservations. When I inquired about an early checkout, I was told I could leave but would still be charged for the rest of my stay on the higher rates. It also seems intentional that there’s no manager on-site, making it impossible to address concerns or hold anyone accountable. The encounter my husband had with the staff was horrible. They resisted giving information on where to file complaints and would not speak with Sonder’s corporate office on the phone. We did finally resolved the issues with an upper level staff the following day, but this experience was so disappointing that I will never stay at another Sonder-branded hotel anywhere in the world. Their lack of accountability, inconsistent practices, and disregard for guest satisfaction make this brand a complete no-go for me. Definitely not worth the cost.
