No frills (for those looking for it), but if you're here to experience NYC and not stay in a hotel room 24/7, it's ideal and reasonably priced. The staff is the best. Better than 4 star hotels I've been at.

This is basically a self storage building but for humans. The pods are closets that don’t even have ceilings. It’s basically cubicles with doors. Would never return.
You get what you pay for - as a solo traveller who doesn't have much accommodation needs beyond privacy, safety and cleanliness Nolita met all of those expectations. Sleeping can be difficult due to open ceilings and noise from other lodgers, but nothing beyond expectations.
Strange having to be so quiet. Not allowed to have visitors. Bathrooms and showers were clean.
Bed was comfortable. Lounge was very nice.
This an actual old time flop house. Not that there are old drunks flopping for the night, there were polite travelers. Nice staff good location to Soho and Lower East Side bars.
During all interactions I had with the staff everyone was super welcoming and respectful. The building itself had a cool atmosphere and the room I stayed in was clean. Although You can hear pretty much everything going on around you as there is no roof to your individual room, most people were respectful and kept noise down

I was not aware there were no elevators; wish I had been informed. When room was nearby someone, wish there were several spaces between rooms when applicable and for more privacy.
But, employees there were all exceptional !
The shower was too hot. I couldn't get it to cool off.

This is a hostel first of all. It wasn’t very clear when i booked. This is a place where you go to literally have a clean bed to place your head. I wouldn’t go back because hostels are not my thing. It’s a bit creepy and dark looking but i never felt unsafe. Not a huge fan of co-ed spaces like this but thats a personal preference.
My stay was so terrible that I could not stay the second night of my booking. It was dirty, noisy, smelly, and the plug didn't work so I couldn't charge my phone. I informed them of my terrible experience from the first night and said it was so bad I couldn't stay a second night and kindly asked them to only charge for the one night I actually stayed at the property. They refused and said it is their policy that I had to pay for both nights because I had originally booked a 2 night stay. I had to find a new hotel for the second night and wasted money and time but there is no way I could stay a second night at this horrible hostel.
The weekend girlies followed the quiet time hours better than the weeksay girlies. Staff was friendly and the place was clean.
I stayed in a double bed room with a window. I’d stay in a similar room again.
