Checkin and checkout staff were aloof and condescending. Hiring practices need a serious overhaul. Issues reported IHG a few days ago and no response was received. Highlights were the snack bar staff member and the airport shuttle driver.

Another early morning flight so we of course stayed at Crowne Plaza for a good nights sleep the night before the flight. We were greeted once again by our FAVORITE front desk manager, Jeff. We feel welcomed and well cared for upon arrival by Jeff. He goes out of his way to make sure we have a great stay at the Crowne Plaza. It really makes a difference when you’re treated like old friends. Thanks, Jeff.

Shout out to Molly, who was working and checked us in. She was very personable and helpful with providing us ample information pertaining to travel, so thanks to her, she made the stay very enjoyable! Aside from that I would ask the maintenance staff to be a bit more diligent with answering requests (asked for a towel and it never came). Another issue was the lack of accessibility surrounding the hotel, whether it was the lack of sidewalks and walkable food places from within the distance of the hotel.

Ok let’s talk about it……. I chose this hotel because we flew into the EWR airport (New Jersey) & we would be spending a day here before heading to New York and there was a free shuttle from the airport to the hotel. Listen to the instructions below so you are NOT wandering around like my family and I did for an hour. We did call the hotel for instructions but most things are automated & keeps saying go to P4 but no instruction. Well if you are like us and this is your first time to New Jersey you have no idea where P4 is and how to find it to get to the free airport to hotel shuttle. Once you gather your items from the baggage claim, you use the Airtrain. You go up to level 2 to board the airtrain. P4 is the very last stop on the airtrain. You then head down the stairs and follow the signs. Crown Plaza was loading in zone 2. It runs every 30 minutes. One we were able to get on the shuttle, getting the hotel was quick and check in was seamless! We came in early and due to their being available rooms we were able to check in an hour or so early which was nice because we had our 2 kids with us. Lastly there is a very nice mall with amazing food options very close, NOT WALKING distance it’s called the Mills at Jersey Gardens. The Uber there was under $10. You can pick up anything you may have forgotten to pack & eat there. They have a bunch of different food options inside including an Applebee’s and a theater (yes it is all inside that mall) lol I too was a bit shocked.
