Great hotel

The hotel is really high quality. The rooms are a great size with all the amenities and great bathrooms. The bus into the city centre is right outside and it’s about 10 minutes to the metro station. Would definitely stay here agsin

Friendly staff and comfortable room

Good contact before trip; fast check-in; quiet room at back of hotel; decent size room and well-appointed bathroom. Good breakfasts. Every single member of staff was welcoming, saying hello in what seemed a very genuine way: spirits seemed good, gave impression of being a happy workplace, which makes guests feel comfortable.

All the staff are so welcoming and kind. The restaurant is excellent with a fine selection of dishes, we had dinner on both nights and the food was delicious with generous portions. The selection from the buffet at breakfast was well presented and fresh. The Eggs Benedict is superb. Facilities are excellent,, they only reason I gave four stars is the shower gel dispensers are in need of a servicing or replacement as the plunger sticks down which is frustrating as it needs to be pulled back up to dispense more product. This is the second visit here and we definitely intend to stay at The Great North Hotel again next time in Newcastle... There is no better option. Highly recommend.
