The staff was very friendly and helpful. The room was clean and comfortable. I stayed 2 nights with my daughter and felt very safe. The location was fabulous and we could walk to everything. I would definitely recommend this establishment to others! It’s unfortunate that they have changed their policy to require 5 nights.

Terrible experience

We were called to see what time we were checking in, and told it was fine to check in early. Arrived at 1230 (the time we said). There was no parking to be found. Initially we were told we could park in one space across the street, but would need to move later on to street parking. The owner offered us an “upgrade” to another one of his hotels. Said it was his high end property and a king size bed. No extra charge. We took it thinking it would be better. The other hotel smelled. The bed was terrible, pillows flat. The shower had little pressure. The room was super small. Breakfast was only available at the other hotel, and you had to order the night before. One night was doable, but if we had stayed longer, it would have been an issue. For the amount paid for the place, you’d expect a lot higher quality. Would not recommend nor stay here again.

This property is not the fanciest hotel, but it was in a lovely neighborhood and quite literally a 5-8 minute walk from everything. Super convenient. I never moved my car the entire 4 days I was there. The property owner was so kind, he even compted my breakfast the first morning, just because he’s a great guy! My room was on the 3rd floor and he had a young man carry my bags upstairs for me. My room was nothing fancy, but was clean and quiet and very comfortable. This property feels like a home, and I loved it!

The staff at this place was exceptionally great. The bed was so comfortable. Slept like a baby. It could’ve been updated a little bit more but other than that, I will definitely stay here again.

Cleveland House is charming, & perfect location to walk all over Newport. Blocks to the warfs, Thames street , restaurants, Broadway, & lots of historic homes to see. Free parking. Rooms are small, clean & comfortable with minimal storage area…. Not great if you need space for big suitcases or work supplies. Shower was large & very nice, no counters or shelves for supplies. Good coffee in the breakfast area each morning. Perfect location priced well for the area, we would definitely stay again.

We had a great stay at The Cleveland House this week, very accommodating and friendly staff. Room was clean with a comfortable bed and A/C. Definitely will plan to stay here again in the future.
