Crantock has a post office, tea room, gift shop, art gallery and two pubs, both serving good food. The beach and dunes are bordered by the estuary of the River Gannel, designated an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty and a haven for birdlife. Newquay with its surfing beaches and surf schools is only 3 miles away. Sea fishing trips can be arranged on the quay, and Truro and Padstow with their abundance of quality restaurants, shopping and cinemas are also close by.



Cycling along the picturesque Camel Trail from Padstow to Bodmin is a must, and bike hire is available locally. Watergate Bay is 5 miles away and is home to the National Kite Surfing Centre for those looking for that adrenaline rush with a difference. Sea fishing, several golf courses, horse riding, family tourist attractions such as Crealy Adventure Park and Dairyland Farm World, go karting and many National Trust properties and gardens are all nearby.
