Easy drive from furano. Etc unlimited pass is definitely the way to go (it makes sense for us as we r doing a round trip from Sapporo to Asahikawa, furano, noboribetsu and beyond). Easy to find. Hotel parking was only across the street. Dinner and breakfast buffet were excellent with TOO many to choose from. Simply awesome. We played a 45-min table tennis after dinner (500 yen to rent paddles and extra set of balls). Very fun. 5 different types of hot spring to choose from. Out of the world. Nearby Jugokudani trail was a very enjoyable course with various paths to choose from. We even had hot spring foot bath in the mountain to soothe our feet in middle of our mountain trail. Can’t recommend enough.

Stayed for one night in late May 2025 in a deluxe japanese room with in room crab kaiseki. Its more a complex than hotel as the area is huge but everything flows smoothly and works harmoniously. The onsen is spectacular and the amenities like shampoo, face wash etc. are all high end. I went the onsen 3 times in the one night and loved every moment of it. The in rooom crab kaiseki was delicious, luxurious and well thought out. There were so many crab dishes like miso crab soup, crab hot pot, crab fried rice, steamed crab and tempura crab. We could not finish the meal! Breakfast was served in the buffet area which can be hectic with all the guests but had everything you need including cantaloupe softserve which is a must try! This became the highlight of our 17 day Japan trip and if we come back to Hokkaido, this onsen will be the centerpiece of our planning. Highly recommended. Go g The

We loved our stay here! This onsen is very different than other places we’ve gone to before- it’s one of a kind and has a huge variety of different onsen pools both indoors and outdoors! Felt so relaxed and clean afterwards. The stay in the ryokan was also very comfortable and if you can’t afford a kaiseki dinner, there’s ramen and soba restaurants in B1 floor! Loved it here :) would recommend!

I had not been a fan of onsens before this property. It was large enough that I didn’t feel claustrophobic or uncomfortable. The different pools and size allowed me to enjoy it for a couple of hours and not be bored. Moreover, it being at foot of Hell Valley made it a memorable site.

I am not Japanese so I am reviewing this hotel from a foreigner's cultural perspective. We had hoped for a serene onsen hotel. This was certainly not that. The architecture was 1970's soviet gulag style on the outside and Butlins on the inside. It was brightly lit and noisey The onsen was more like a municiple swimming pool. It did have views out over the steaming fumeroles but the glass was so steamy you couldn't see it. The breakfast was pretty inedible for a reasonably adventerous Irish man. The fish and pickles were good but the eggs were under cooked and the sausages were raw. Also, no bread, just pastries. The coffee was good. The dining room was like a 1980's factory canteen. And it was very expensive! I have stayed in much better onsen for much less elsewhere in Japan

Nice Japanese-style rooms, great service, but the onsen area was way too hot and the pool area could have been better kept and allow access to an external pool.
