This resort has a lot to offer. It is beautiful, staff was very friendly and the facilities itself was very clean. The time i was there there were some issues that had altered my overall experience. Upon arrival only 1 elevator was working. It took 45 minutes to get up to our room, once there the keys were not activated. We had to go to the hotel lobby to activate the keys. The next day after a long day of swimming at the pool we go to our room to shower for dinner and there was no water. The water was shut off everyday at 10am during our stay. When there was water it was only cold water. Not use to taking showers in cold water. I don't think this is the norm for the resort but when you bring the concerns to the front desk it's like they do not care and don't handle anything for you.

I went to this RIU with high expectations since I recently came back from the one in Bahamas. This fell way short. It’s really the customer service. The check in process was horrible. I came in early around 1 and they said it was too early come back at 3. That wasn’t a problem until I came back at 3 and it was a whole group of people. I waited on line for 45 min and there were only 3 people in front of me. And when I got to the front, the lady left so I’m there standing there waiting now for someone to come back and give me my room. Luckily the second person I was with went to another line and a non front desk person found that our keys were already ready and gave it to us. Also they are doing construction, I wasn’t aware of that before booking. Rooms are definitely in need of update. Screws/knobs falling out, AC barely worked. And the food was sub par, the breakfast was the best. Lastly, it was my birthday and i was looking planning to go to the steakhouse specialty restaurant. I go there and it’s closed for a wedding. No one informed us ahead of time, I’m sure this wedding was planned in advance. Some positives were the entertainment, beach, and bar service. They really made my experience. And they also sent me a slice of birthday cake for my birthday which was really nice.

Staff was very professional and courteous. Food was good. When we arrived, we were assigned to the old building. Many issues with the rooms we were assigned to. My mother was stuck in her room with no working phone to call for maintenance until we arrived to help get her out. When maintenance arrived, she was told there was a broken door hinge. Air conditioner was only operating with the fan. No cool air. Rooms were humid and damp. Couldn't wait to be reassigned the next day. Had many issues with the move from the old building to new building. Very poorly managed. Despite reaching out to the hotel prior to arriving, and being assured that we would not be affected by the renovations, we did have to move the day after we arrived. Day of the move the elevators to the new building were not working. Some customers were actually carrying their suitcases on their shoulders up the staircase. We did not have that option as I traveled with my 84 year old mother and aunt. We had to wait until the elevators were fixed. Needless to say the line was very long as many of us relied on one working elevator. The newly renovated rooms are beautiful, however the shower door in some rooms have a gap at the bottom. After showering, water ran out to the sink and close to the toilet. On vacation we had to clean up water on the floor after each shower. Last two days, water was turned off to the rooms for periods of time. Communication of the issues was by word of mouth. We all expected better!

Construction going on. It caused a lot of problems. Elevators not working, toilet leaking, then we had no water to flush toilets or take showers! And we were in the new building! They need to close now and finish all renovations a then re-open! On the bright side the beach is gorgeous, pool is nice and you can walk to shops and great restaurants & bars.

Pros: friendly staff, beautiful property, the buffett food was delicious, the shows were professionally done and excellent, the pool was nice, the beach was beautiful and calm. The room was beautiful and had great AC. The drinks were great! Cons: we paid for a room with a balcony and didnt get a balcony, we were in the new remodeled room and had no hot water for 7 days. We paid around $500 night and there only compensation was a bottle of champagne which we do not like. The water was off several times during the week without notice. The housekeeper left 2 used bottles of water from the previous people that stayed in the room before us in the fridge. It took 2 days to get more bottled water. She kept forgetting to leave more coffee, rags, a coffee cup we (we started out with 2 and then had one the rest of the week). The music around the pool was ridiculously loud and sadly with all the construction being done thats what we heard at the beach.

I stayed 10 nights at this resort with my family and it was a nightmare. I have never experienced something like this. I will list a few issues I had during my stay at this disgusting place. I filed complaint due to the below issues: 1 - Extreme loud noise inside and outside of the resort due to construction starting at 7:30 in the morning. 2 - No AC for 2 days 3 - No water on certain hours of the day 4 - No hot water almost every day 5 - Terrible restaurant management due to limited hours of operation. I’ve never had an experience where the restaurant does not allow you to get in after 8PM. Management at the resort is well aware of the issues and unfortunately they don’t do anything about it. They are very sneaky and invite you to file complaints so you can get full refund back which doesn’t happen. This place does not meet any standards. You pay a lot of money and in exchange you construction noise, no water, dust, terrible restaurant experience and no AC. PLEASE DO YOURSELF A FAVOR AND STAY AWAY FROM THIS RESORT. SAVE YOURSELF MONEY AND A LOT OF HEADACHE. DON’T WASTE YOUR TIME.

First thing was that this room should not be considered ocean view. There were exhaust fan ducts in the bathroom that didn’t work. The air conditioning in the room was terrible. There were roaches in the room. Water in shower would not drain. Sink closest to shower did not drain. Last night there we couldn’t shower because there was water coming from the ceiling in the shower and where the toilet is. Leaking near the ceiling lights. Dangerous, property manager could probably avoid all bad reviews if the rooms were inspected when done.

The place is nice but not people with disabilities friendly. There was a lot of stairs and ramps to climb up. Also the air conditioning in the rooms need to be cooler. The bellmen needed to take our luggage and show us to our room. Not us just trying to find our room our selves. When there was a issue with not receiving face cloths it took 2 calls and a visit to the front desk before I received our wash cloths.

Overall the staff and food options were very good. The wait staff and bartenders were very personable and attentive. However the over all condition of our stay was soured by the facilities. Our room had been recently renovated and had clearly been rushed to allow guests in while the building was still under major construction. We only had hot water on the first day of our 7 day stay and routinely did not have water in our room for extended times after the second day. When we did have water the shower drain would back up causing it to flood. The elevators were over taxed and were also having maintenance issues. Many people in the hotel also voiced these concerns all of which were brought up to the front desk staff. The staff attempted to assist us bit did not have solutions to the issues.

Dear RIU palace Aruba or to whom it may concern Hi, my name is Christopher Hargrove, I have recently visited Aruba and while visiting Aruba, I had made reservations to stay at one of your resort, which was RIU palace Aruba from Aug 22-25, 2025. My stay at this resort was one of my worst experiences and would like to be reimbursed for some of my vacation. I have reached out to RIU palace and they said I have to go thru the company I booked. First I the room had no AC for 2days which is unacceptable, also there was not toilet sit or toilet cover on the toilet, maintenance had to come install one. I also had to wait 90mins to get food after ordering and being set at the table. I feel I spent most of my vacation at the front desk and in an uncomfortable room at night. What a complete disaster staying at the Riu Palace from day 1 of getting there. Rooms were not ready at 3pm check in. The elevators weren’t working throughout the whole stay from August 22nd- August 27nd. Me, my wife, and 8 family members including babies had to carry our luggage’s, bags, and babies up 5 flight of stairs on the first day. Even on the last day we had to carry them all down because elevators didn’t work. We stood in room 1523 and not only us but mainly everyone had problems with their rooms. Our sink did not work. We had no hot water the entire time we stood there. The shower drain did not drain properly. We had to shower in cold water the entire trip! There was construction going on the entire stay. My brothers room was flooded and the light fixture was hanging from the ceiling. He had to switch 5 rooms until he found one that had no problems! In my grandpas room and other family members rooms the Air Conditioner did not work. My grandfather is 80 years old with a heart condition and the staff gave him a problem switching rooms with Air Condition. He could of gotten a heart attack! What a disaster this whole vacation was staying there. It was disgraceful and we paid good money for this place. We paid for a hotel and didn’t receive what we paid for. It was suppose to be a nice vacation for everyone and everyone was in distress over this. I’m so upset after all the money we spent as a whole. The Riu Palace should compensate us for this disaster of a stay!

Very disappointing!!! I did not having air condition for the first 2 day, it was unbearable and I suffer from asthma. The 3rd the elevator broke down… I have severe back condition. This day was an absolute nightmare. We were not even offered any type of compensation. I am asking Expedia to provide me some compensation for this trip. Thank you.

I was very surprised to learn that on the second day of my vacation we were told that we had to move to the new building. The elevator didn’t work , water was turned off and the a/c didn’t work. That situation was ongoing up to the time of my departure. The food was good and there was plenty of activities.

My family and I stayed at the Riu Palace Aruba from Friday, August 22, through Tuesday, August 26. I am writing to formally express my extreme disappointment with the quality of our stay, which was far below the standards expected of a resort of your reputation. From the moment we arrived, our experience was plagued with issues: • Elevators Out of Service: Upon check-in, the elevators were not functioning, forcing my wife and me to carry our 15-month-old child and all of our luggage up to the 5th floor. • Plumbing Issues: The hot water only worked for 2 out of the 4 nights, the sink faucets did not provide cold water, and the shower drain was clogged, causing water to back up while bathing. • Air Conditioning & Fan Malfunctions: On our first night, the AC did not function, and neither did the ceiling fan, leaving our room uncomfortable. • Construction Noise: Our stay was further disrupted by loud construction noises, including jackhammers from morning until evening. This not only disturbed our sleep but also made it extremely difficult for our infant daughter to rest. • Unresponsive Service: Despite multiple complaints, staff members were unable to resolve these issues
