We’re not on site, but we’re just a call or message away if you need anything. Just note that cell signal is limited, though you can usually connect near the front gate.

There’s a small indoor table for two and solar lighting for nighttime ambiance. Prep food at the picnic table, grill over the fire, or just kick back with a book and listen to the birds.

For guests staying at the Pinecone Bunkie in Simcoe, ON public transit options are limited due to its rural setting. However, there are a few services available;
Ride Norfolk: Ride Norfolk offers an on-demand transit service across Norfolk County from Monday to Friday, 7:30 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. This service allows you to request trips through a mobile app, website, or phone, selecting your pick-up point and destination from available bus stops on a first-come, first-serve basis.
We like to keep things clear and upfront so you can feel 100% confident about what to expect. Here are a few helpful things to know before your stay:
Washroom & Shower: A shared washroom with warm/cold shower, toilet, and outdoor well-access tap is nearby and easy to access.
Water & Electricity There is no drinking water on-site—please bring your own. Electricity is available in the bunkie (solar-powered).
Wi-Fi & Cell Service: There is no Wi-Fi and very limited or no cell service. Plan to unplug and enjoy the quiet.
Garbage: There are no large garbage bins and no road side pickup. Please be prepared to bring your garbage to the dump during your stay, or you need to bring it home with you to dispose of. If any garbage is left behind a $75 cleanup, transfer and dump fee will be charged.
Temperature & Seasons: The bunkie is available year-round, however, it is not insulated. If you are coming in winter or intermit weather, we are assuming you "know what you're in for" and will pack and dress appropriately to be in the bush. In winter, the road may not be plowed and could require a short walk in. Bring extra blankets for chilly nights.
Guest Verification: To protect our home and stay aligned with short-term rental regulations, we use an independent verification process for all guests. Please note: If you are booking outside of Airbnb, before your booking begins, you will need to verify your details with us to complete your reservation. If you are not booking with Airbnb you will be contacted via email and/or text to complete the verification. You will also be given the choice between paying a refundable deposit or buying a non-refundable damage waiver.
