A strategic location The eighteenth century Chiesa del Santissimo Crocifisso [Church of the Holy Crucifix], which dominates the large Piazza Mazzini square, is the backdrop to the apartment's large balconies. We are in the heart of the town s so called Piano Alto [upper level], very close to the main street.

THE ROOMS



Living in Casa San Lio means letting yourself be enchanted by an elegant and captivating contemporary design, which can interact with the historical architectures of Noto in a spontaneous and seductive way.

The apartment is self contained and exclusively for guests, with room for up to 6 people.

Its 160 square metre surface is divided on three floors:


the welcoming and practical entrance is on the ground floor;
on the first floor, the kitchen is equipped with everything needed to cook and eat comfortably. The large and bright living area has a double sofa bed and bathroom, while the "Green Room", a bedroom with a soft minimalistic style, has a bathroom and walk in closet that also acts as a convenient laundry room, complete with dryer and iron;
on the second floor, the "Blue Room", an en suite bedroom, stands out for its open wardrobe and its serene atmosphere. Finally, there is the added value of Casa San Lio: the magical terrace where you can enjoy hours of relaxation and tranquillity.

WHERE YOU WILL BE



Casa San Lio overlooks Piazza Mazzini square in Noto, where the main feature is the baroque Chiesa del Santissimo Crocifisso [Church of the Holy Crucifix]. We are in the heart of the highest area of Noto, in the historic district of "Piano Alto", characterised by period houses and alleys, with plenty of people out and about. It is well served: close to Casa San Lio are pharmacies, supermarkets and grocery stores, bars, restaurants, pizzerias and the Post Office.

The apartment is about 400 meters from the old town centre, a short and pleasant walk to discover the town s characteristic streets and monuments.




GETTING AROUND



The town centre of Noto has been a recognised UNESCO World Heritage Site since 2002, along with the other late Baroque towns of the Val di Noto (south east Sicily): Caltagirone, Militello Val di Catania, Catania, Modica, Palazzolo Acreide, Ragusa and Scicli. Together, they are an exceptional example of late Baroque art and architecture, representing the culmination and the last blossoming of the European Baroque period.

Casa San Lio is an excellent base from which to visit the eight towns, day after day, following tourist itineraries, food and wine tours and cultural events unlike any other in the world.

From the apartment, you can easily reach some of the most beautiful beaches in south eastern Sicily and the Nature Reserves of Vendicari and Cavagrande.

In addition, in the territory of Noto there are many important areas of historical and archaeological interest, winding up to Castello Eurialo and the Archaeological Park of the Neapolis of Syracuse, less than an hour s journey by car from Casa San Lio.
