The property was a hop, skip, and a jump to the beach and Boardwalk. Also, there is free parking on site, which was very convenient too. The staff was very pleasant and the rooms were very clean and beds were quite comfortable. They have free coffee in the morning from 6-11 am and an ice machine. Honestly, if you are looking for an affordable way to travel to OCMD during peak season, this is the place to stay.

Good ol wellington

Ahhhhhhh the good ol’ Wellington. Classic, clean, and right where you want to be—just steps off the Ocean City boardwalk. The Wellington Hotel and Suites Ocean Block nails that nostalgic beach-town vibe without feeling outdated. It’s got charm, and more importantly, it’s got people who actually care. The hotel staff? Five-star service. The attendants and front desk team were friendly, responsive, and genuinely helpful. Whether I needed assistance with my room or just had a random request, they didn’t miss a beat. That kind of service is rare these days, and it made my stay smoother and more enjoyable. Bonus points for the ice machine—simple, sure, but super convenient after a hot day on the sand. Sometimes it’s the little amenities that make a difference, and they got that right. If you’re looking for a solid, laid-back spot with classic beach-town energy and top-tier service, the Wellington delivers. I’ll be back.

We loved our stay at the Wellington! It’s truly a hidden gem! Very close to the board walk! The room was cool, the bed and pillows were comfy! The only issue I had was with the water pressure in the shower but that is very minor.

The hotel was extremely clean and smelled very good. Everyone we spoke to was kind. My only complaint would be the shower !!! The shower was absolutely horrible !!! It was literally like showering in a telephone booth, a coffin, a small box, I have never in my life been in a shower that small. Also, there was a washcloth left in there, I’m not sure if it was from another guest or the cleaning crew, idk. But, other than that everything was cool. Would I stay again??… probably not, but, you can. 😊

We've stayed here several times. Location is perfect right off of the beach. Rooms are small but clean and comfortable and have neen upgraded. Every time we have stayed it's been quiet. Service from management is always great. We appreciate the ability to check in early if available. It doesn't have much in terms of amenities, but if you're looking to stay close to baordwalk and beach it's perfect!

I stayed at the Wellington for 3 nights this June. I was actually surprised at how pleasant the stay was. The hotel and room were clean, which is the most important factor for me after location. Location is great, just a few steps from the boardwalk with no streets to cross. I stayed on the first floor near the lobby. Room was small and nothing special but clean and bed and pillows were comfortable. Staff was always friendly and available. Good coffee was available next to the lobby fresh every morning. There is a back deck with rocking chairs where you can sit and watch cars and people go by on Baltimore Ave. Parking is also good if not too crowded. The few negatives I noticed: There were no nightstands for one of our two beds (no place to put cell phone and glasses). The hotel is right next to a beer and wine store and you might hear people out there at night, and the blinds don’t keep out all of the light from the streetlights if you need the room really dark at night. I don’t think we had a tv in room but I don’t care about that. Overall I was impressed and would stay there again.
