Read our reviews and see why this is the only place you need to book for your island get away. Amazing ocean views, cool nights and gorgeous sunsets. We are centrally located between Hilo and Kona. Perfect for exploring the South end of the island.
Guesthouse is located on a working nursery, but operations are scheduled to allow for peace and quiet for guests.
400 Sq. feet, private deck, outdoor shower, Queen size bed as well as queen sized futon to sleep 4 guests.
The space
We offer 2 acres of beautifully landscaped property. Enjoy the outdoor patio overlooking spectacular ocean views. Enjoy long walks on our quarter mile walking path, or watch the sunset while enjoying a relaxing soak in the hot tub. Take a tour of our commercial nursery and see the beautiful tropical plants of Hawaii.

The guesthouse is a perfect get away with its spectacular ocean views and tranquility of rural living.

If you are tired of the loud city noises and are seeking a peaceful place to decompress from city living, this is the place for you.

Mongoose Manor was cozey and comfortable

My family of 4 stayed here for 4 nights. It fit our needs perfect. Very cute a cozy. We spent most days exploring the island and Mongoose Manor gave us a nice place to rest. Great relaxing views. It is a good central spot between Kona and Hilo, especially if you would like to explore both sides separately. Great experience all around.

Comfortable compact accommodations

The “Mongoose Manor” was a perfect place to stay on the south of the island. The hosts do a great job of taking care of your needs and the elevation above sea level is perfect for sleeping, with cool nights (no A/C needed). The days warm up but are still very comfortable if you decide to stay in. There are good beaches for snorkeling within 30 minutes, as well as the green sand beach and the black sand beach where there’s almost always sea turtles out sun bathing. If you’re big on cooking, the kitchen is very compact but is enough for light meals. Overall it was a great experience and we would definitely stay there again if needing accommodations on the south Side of the island.

Nice views. Close to popular sights like South Point, Green sand beach and Black Sand Beach. The guest house was private and clean. Great for 2 people. Everything worked as advertised. Hosts were responsive to our needs.

I think that this was a great off grid, away from the overdone touristy locals but still have easy access to all you need. The hosts were great. The only knock was the hot tub being attached to the main house and not closer to the cabin.

Great rental providing more of an authentic Hawaiian experience!

The property is beautiful, the view is amazing, the hosts could not be friendlier/accommodating! This really is a special retreat. Sitting on the deck in the morning with our coffee was a highlight! We loved the outdoor shower, which was a big reason we chose this rental. While not a deal breaker for us, we do feel the need to tell potential renters that photos included in the listing are a bit misleading. The hot tub is not on the deck of the rental but in fact down a path and on the deck of the owners home. They were great insuring your privacy while using the hot tub, but still a little different and not quite what we expected. With that said, the rental property is somewhat close the house of the owners, but privacy never felt like an issue. They could not have been more helpful, but also providing space and privacy. It is a great rental. Off the beaten path and felt more authentically Hawaiian instead of another condo rental, which we enjoyed! Truly a great experience!
