Walking just 15 minutes (or a quick two minutes by car) south will find you in the town centre with its eateries, shops, and supermarkets. The same distance in the opposite direction leads you to Ohakune Junction; a hub for transport around the area as well as the home of the Powderhorn Chateau with its thermal pools and popular restaurant, the Powderkeg.
