Location its all about location. Superb views of the Hokianga harbour, the golden sands and the friendly atmosphere of the staff from the moment of arrival until departure.
The rooms are spacious and very clean. Very satisfied with the whole experience which made the weekend very enjoyable.
We would definitely recommend booking this accommodation. The staff and service were amazing, the cleanliness of the property overall was great and we had everything we needed and also definitely recommend booking in for the dinner service, the food and service were amazing.
What a view! we had stayed here a few years back on a bike trip so really wanted to stay again and relax. Great food, the property is getting a bit of a face life and you can see the effort going in to get it back to a very high level
We were upgraded to a Villa which was spacious and clean. Comfortable bed. Plenty of towels and lovely shower/bath/handwash products in the bathroom.
The restaurant dinner meal was delicious and generous. Continental breakfast was good, but I would have liked to have seen a better selection of fresh fruit on offer, rather than the canned fruit salad. All up it was a great stay at The Sands.
Stunning location & beautiful facilities although some area's of the facilities are old, you can see they are making improvements.
Our room had stunning beach front views but we had a beautiful Pohutukawa tree blocking some of that, so next time I'll ask for a room on bottom floor.
Our superior room with verandah had plenty of space, comfortable king bed and all the basics we needed, only complaint is we couldn't lock the door from the inside.
