The thing I love most about our home is our amazing sunrises. It’ll feel like you’re 1,000,000 miles from civilization when you’re just tucked away on a semi-private lake. Enjoy fishing, swimming, boating, floating, sun bathing, or just simply relaxing. We are only 10 minutes from shopping, restaurants, golf courses, parks and hiking, and several major wedding venues. We are 20 minutes from downtown chattanooga and major city attractions including Rock City, Ruby Falls, Chattanooga Aquarium, Chattanooga Zoo, Cherokee National Forest, the Ocoee River, and much more. Our lake season is limited to six months. April through October. You will always have amazing water views and sunrises, but water activities may be limited during the off-season.

We are pet friendly for smaller, house broken, cage trained pets, but please ask about our pet fee.

Come see why we love Chattanooga and choose to call Ooltewah our home. This is a private access, basement apartment in my home. We live upstairs. But you'll have all the privacy you want and need for a great vacation with your own private driveway, private entrance, and private hot tub, and fire pit. The pool is heated during spring and fall, and the kayak and paddle board are free to use. There is a wave runner for rent at an additional fee if you choose. The bed swing makes for great afternoon naps, and the lounge chairs are the perfect setting for a sun tan.
During your stay at this apartment building, you'll be close to Harrison Bay State Park. An outdoor pool and 1 hot tub are available. The apartment includes amenities such as free WiFi and a kitchen.

Very nice place for our Labor Day on the lake. Boat lift was nice for protecting our boat. Dock was clean and had a nice set up. Pool and Hot tub were enjoyed bunches and perfect for a romantic weekend for us. View is pretty as it gets. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay, the host were great, very accommodating. Certainly will stay here as much as we can.

“Our stay at this lakeside VRBO was absolutely wonderful. The space was clean, comfortable, and very private, making it the perfect spot to relax and recharge. The amenities were top-notch — we loved having access to the pool, hot tub, paddle board, and kayak. The option to rent a jet ski was an added bonus. Waking up to the sunrises and lake view each morning was a highlight, and everything about the property felt well thought out and welcoming. Highly recommend for anyone looking for a peaceful and fun getaway”

My experience: Terrible. The property: As advertised. We arrived on our check in date around 8 pm after a long drive only to find that the host was hosting guests upstairs for a party and had completely forgotten that we were checking in. The bed was not made, trash cans were overflowing and personal items from a previous guests were left in the bathroom. We messaged the host several times to avoid having to go knock on the door but received no response. Once we went up and knocked on the door, we realized that both hosts were very intoxicated. Amidst their intoxication, they promised to give us a full refund and to pay for the hotel that we had to get that night. While they did refund us part of the stay, the taxes and cleaning fees were not refunded and they refused to pay for the hotel like they promised. The worst part about the stay was not the mistake that was made but the way we were attacked when trying to collect what they promised. Things ended with me being accused of black mail...We did nothing wrong... We will not be coming back. People show their true colors when mistakes happen, the hosts handled the situation very poorly.

Minimoon Stay

Feels like you are a million miles away from everything. Lovely lake views, gorgeous pool, relaxing hot tub. Comfy and cosy. The room has everything you need and more! Lovely and spacious outside, parking space, large bed swing, firepit, dock right on the lake. We had so much privacy. The neighborhood was safe and peaceful. Herby was very responsive and helpful. Nice weekend getaway

We had a wonderful time! The location is stunning! We particularly enjoyed having breakfast down by the lake and relaxing in the hot tub! One suggestion we have is to make the entrance more visible or direct us toward the back of the house on check in instructions. Also, the fire pit would lite but would not stay lit. Thanks for the nice stay!

Ooltewah get away

The property was very clean and had all the amenities that made our stay incredibly relaxing. We had plans to spend time in Chattanooga but spent some time relaxing at our rental home. The hot tube was very much needed for both my wife and I. It was too cold for the pool and the lake was dried out during this time of year or we would have enjoyed spending time on the water, as well. The host was very flexible with us and accommodated our stay to change dates last minute due to unexpected circumstances on our end. We had a wonderful time staying at Herby’s!!
