I really liked and enjoyed our stay in the hotel. breakfast is good and the variety of choices is amazing. The location is super good, near centre, the trams is opposite and tram 12 takes you to the best places. I can't think of anything negative.

Great breakfast and location

Well located hotel near to centre and nightlife/restaurants. Kettle could be hired free. Breakfast was very good. Would stay here again.

My favorite Oslo Hotel

The Anker Hotel offers an amazing view of the city, sunrise or sunset, depending I suppose on which way your room is facing. It is central enough to walk to the station and with a tram stop right outside. The rooms are clean, quiet, and comfortable. They range in size, but even the smallest feels big enough to move around and the larger ones feel amost like small suites. The breakfast is expansive with lots of choice, including a gluten free section that I find important. They also do a pretty good coffee (although there are amazing artisan places within a few minutes walk.) The hotel bar, which is sadly closed on Sundays, is a surreal delight, with visiting bands playing shuffleboard and a music selection that probably has no place in a chain hotel but which I enjoyed very much for that reason. I've heard everything from country music to glam rock, from post-punk, to I don't know what. What is more, the staff are attentive, friendly, and knowledgeable. I am struggling to find a downside. I think the part of town is possibly less salubrious than the centre, but if you come from a city it feels fine. Oh, and there are 13 floors! I have not stayed on the 13th floor yet, but each time I visit I seem to go two higher ....

Great value for money

The hotel was such good value. 24hr reception was great as we had been delayed so didn't arrive until 1am. The breakfast offering is huge, there's something for everyone. The rooms are a little tired, but the beds are incredibly comfortable. There are no kettles in the room but there's a coffee machine in the foyer (charged), and you can purchase cup noodles from reception and they will provide hot water.
