When we told people we were staying at Lion Quays, the response was oh posh. But unfortunately it wasnt, our room was small and very worn out. Paint missing from doors and cupboards, the headboard looked like someone was trying to escape with material on it scratched away. Stains on fixtures and pillows. The shower gel/shampoo practically empty. The view from the room was an overgrown area, next to an aircon unit and bins. Although im not sure where the aircon was for the rooms, as it was so hot, athough we were provided with a very small fan which was also tired and provided no relief at all. At breakfast alot of the chairs were stained, our table was sticky and had some sort of film covering it. Was generally disappointed at the price we paid, for a room that was so tired.

The bedrooms need a refurb and deep clean! Dust, cobwebs and dirt on the floor. Ripped net curtain which needs replacing. Tv remote didnt work properly. Opened the balcony doors for fresh air to be met with filthy windows externally and several spiders and cobwebs on the internal edge of the frame. There were 4 spiders in webs in the room which was not good for someone who is scared of them! Did not make for a good night sleep! For what is charged it really needs to be better. Staff were great.

Just average I'm afraid, did expect more for cost

Big place. No Lions. Had ducks. Friendly staff. Comfortable bed. Bathroom tiny. Shower a bit green and needed a scrub. Maintenance required in a few places. Non smart old TV terrible with bad reception. Great parking but no EV charging points at all in a place this size is unforgivable. Food was OK but a bit costly and the tables very sticky from bad cleaners. Sorry cant be more positive.

Lovely staff with good check in. comfortable room and bed and good bathroom. Leisure facilties good except shortage of beds around the pool and the few they had were not in good condition. We went to a wedding evening event which was excellent with great staff again. Only let down was the very tiny, one slice of pork on a huge bap with one stuffing ball. After everyone had eaten, they brought out a big skillet of pork which was uneaten.

We had the most wonderful weekend getaway, beautiful location on the canal! From the moment we arrived, everything was perfect. The bed was incredibly comfortable, and the facilities were first-class. I enjoyed a truly blissful spa treatment that left me feeling completely refreshed. Breakfast, included in our stay, offered an impressive variety of options — all fresh, delicious, and beautifully presented 😋. Our evening meal was equally outstanding, with exceptional flavours and attentive service. Highly recommend for a relaxing and luxurious escape weekend away!

Good place to visit parts of the countryside.

Nice hotel

It was a nice hotel, our room could do a with a fresh coat of paint and the bathroom ceiling needs sorting clearly there has been a problem in the past. there needs to be more signposting around and inside hotel as we first parked at the spa not realising the hotel was tuck around the corner, so repack the car and drove round. Breakfast was lovely.

Room very tired.Skirting boards scuffed and dirty. Shower over bath very narrow, shower gel dispenser broken but not replaced,battery flat in room safe,so not working, and blinds broken so would not close properly, meaning it got light early! Many flies at the breakfast buffet.

Friendly staff, comfy clean rooms and lovely food. We also enjoyed the inclused kisure facilities, the only thing to let the place down was the outside area which loomed unkempt, rubbish and ciggarett ends left on floor as there was no bins or ashtrays available, also uneven and loose paving slabs which were very dangerous especially at night as tbere was no outside lighting on the patio or in the garden, and the tables chairs and cushions in the garden were untidy and left out all night even when it rained. The hotel could do with a groundsman to keep the outside area clean and tidy.

Check in was awful, the girl working has no customer service skills whatsoever. Then We got to our room and it wasn’t ready yet (already half an hour past check in), struggled to rectify it, in fact the head of cleaning Sandra was the most helpful. We also got a room beside the elevator when I’d specifically asked not, and the hotel was not full either. Not a good start. The room was nice, but dirty. Dust and debris on shelves and the floor, definitely due for a deep clean. The bed and pillows were comfortable as was the tony balcony.
