The property is located in a good shopping district..perfect if you are in Paris to shop.Rooms are good size but very basic & old. However the Hotel itself is tired looking, customer service is very poor. House Keeping not the best.. If anyone is to stay here, request for rooms on 1st or 2nd floor..Elevators dont work well and alot of stairs climbing.. If you have luggage, this will ne a nightmare.. I rate this hotel 6/10.. Would i stay here again? - Yes, if in paris for strictly shopping, but No if i plan to visit Paris to relax & be pampered a bit with good customer service & amenities.

The AC was not working, even though they offered to change the room next day, the bathroom is in very poor condition, the toilet was not flush properly, they did try to fix it, the room was very small, hardly any room to walk,, will not recommend this hotel, the location is nice. We actually stayed in this hotel 42 years ago as I remember it was much nicer than…

Staff was very helpful and the continental breakfast hit the spot (the staff overseeing this were friendly and did a very nice job). Good location and very walkable. Also easy .4 mi walk to train station.

Good location. Lady that checked us in was amazing. Rest of staff average and were unable to fulfill what should be a simple request of extra pillows as the ones in room were inadequate. Wifi also had next to no connectivity so not suitable for business travel at all. Perhaps this is due to the ongoing renovation which was not disclosed when we booked.

This hotel was very very clean. The bed was very comfortable, the AC worked great and internet service was good. Small room but plenty for 2 people. Their breakfast options were spectacular it was the best breakfast I’ve had at a hotel. A nice balance of fruit, delicious meats and cheeses and condiments. The pastries and croissants and rolls were superb . The staff were very friendly and helpful. We had the wrong connection to charge our phones and the hotel had an adapter that fit that we borrowed during our stay. They went out of their way to accommodate us in every way. Good location closes to the RER and metro stations. Nice stores in the area and some restaurants. The Opera house was about a 5 minute walk. I highly recommend this hotel.

We enjoyed our stay, there was daily cleaning, and this made a diference. All information was displayed appropriately, and the staff in general were always happy to help. The staff also spoke various languages, and this helped a lot. The location made a guge diference.

Fantastic location (close to department stores, several metro stations and the RER, Gare du Nord is a quick bus ride), friendly staff. We arrived late on a Friday for a weekend stay, and got a room on the 1st (one above RDC/0) next to the kitchen. Even worse, you can hear the metro from that floor. I am not sure how high up you need to be to not hear it. Rooms/bathrooms need an update, but are clean. We chose the hotel because it had an affordable family room queen and twin.

They put me in a first floor room that was just above Le Brasserie below. I came into the hotel feeling great, but as soon as I got into my room I realized it was a dusty old spot that reeked of cigarette death. Opening the window would make it worse, as the room was right above a popular smoking spot. I booked a double bed, but they gave me a room with two twins pushed together, and that sucks, a lot of hotels do it, but it sucks. I hate sleeping on a kid’s bed when I pay for a hotel. I thought the hotel had a gym, but they didn’t. I do respect that they gave me the money I paid for breakfast back when I saw that it wasn’t worth it, meager offering pour le petit dejeuner, but that was decent of you. Two nights of stuffy dusty living that I am so glad to have left behind me for another hotel. I couldn’t breathe well in that room, maybe other rooms at The Excelsior Opera are better on higher floors, but mine was unbearable and making me sick. If you are a cig smoker maybe you would love it, I definitely didn’t.
