This is by far the worst property I have ever stayed in. In fact, we had to leave. Ants on the walls, and our room was on the sixth floor. The fan didn't work properly so there was no circulation in the room. If it wasn't 11pm when we arrived, we would have left immediately. We ended up with bug bites all over. The manager informed us this is a "Zero Star" hotel. Really? It's actually not a hotel at all; it's a hostel. There are shared bathrooms and showers on each floor. We did have an en suite but we had to rinse the buts out of the shower before using it. This was truly a bait and switch and at $280, this was unacceptable. Part of the blame is on Expedia - and I'm still waiting for my refund for the second night. What an absolute disappointment!

Port Royal is a very sweet small hotel and very conveniently located. Like many French hotels in the price range (mid) the room was small and there was no TV. Despite this, the room was immaculate, the staff was helpful, cordial and very professional. The area is perfect for seeing the sights and getting the feel of a real French neighborhood. We would definitely stay there again.

No bathroom

When booking it is not made clear that many of the rooms do not have bathrooms. As the booking is non-refundable it is not possible to cancel when the hotel - well known of the problem - inform you about this after the booking is made. In addition, the hotel charges you extra for using the shower. That breakfast is not included was not informed, neither at check-in nor when entering the dining room. Instead, it was overly charged (continental - but with no fruits nor toast) when checking out. The hotel is centrally located in a nice district.

Very happy, would stay again.

Very nice. Classic Paris hotel. Well maintained, friendly and helpful staff, great location. Quite cool despite 39C heat wave - much better than colleagues at other hotels; room had windows to interior courtyard which is stone-wall and stayed cool. Fine, but not elaborate breakfast: Great coffee, nice croissants, juice, yogurt & cereals.

This hotel exceeded my expectations, hence the high ranking, which reflects the very reasonable price. It is in a fine neighborhood, with good restaurants nearby. It took about 20 minutes for me to walk to the Jardin Luxembourg and the Saint Michel district. I was able to reach more distant locations by taking advantage of the Metro stop nearby. The hotel was super clean. The bed was comfortable. It was made and the room straightened while I was out for the day. The staff at the desk were helpful. They spoke good English, pretended to understand my French, and provided a map of the Metro at no charge. I was allowed to store my luggage on the last day after I checked out, but before I went to the airport.

Normalement je suis pas trop fan des douches/toilettes partagées mais je pense qu'au final avec cet hotel c'est pas si mauvais. La propreté de la chambre est très agréable et la salle de bain et les toilettes sont bien maintenues, au final dépenser un peu pour prendre la douche, et uniquement quand j'ai besoin, me parait plutôt raisonnable. En gros, j'ai plutôt une expérience positive avec ce concept un peu atypique, d'ailleurs le personnel était agréable et très sympa aussi.
