Amazing new hotel

It was amazing for us. We needed a night stay in Passau and this place ticked all our boxes. Brand new hotel opened last year in the summer. Convenient location, clean, air conditioned room, spacious bathroom and underground free parking. And the cheapest in the area...

Dog tolerant, not dog friendly

The hotel is clean and modern and has comfortable rooms. The people at the reception are friendly. Unfortunately the rest of our experience was not good. We booked the hotel as a pitstop on our longer trip, specifically booking to have a hotel with a restaurant which allows pets. The restaurant had no food anymore, none, despite advertising it on the IHG website. We had to pay 25 EUR to accommodate our dog, but she was not welcome in the restaurant for the breakfast we had paid for (the seating area, of course we don't take her into the buffet area). We have traveled a lot with our dog, incl. many nights in Germany, and have never had to pay such a high pet fee and were very disappointed to then not be allowed to have breakfast. This is not advertised correctly and we were disappointed.

Das Hotel ist für einen 2 bis 3 tägigen Aufenthalt in Passau gut geeignet. Die Zimmer sind sauber, das Personal freundlich und das Frühstück sehr lecker. Preis Leistungsverhältnis stimmt somit. Zum laufen in die Altstadt muss man schon 30 Minuten einplanen. Also ist es besser mit dem Auto in die Stadt zu fahren. Wem das nichts ausmacht sollte hier buchen.

Bewertung der Hotelbuchung

Angesichts des hohen Preises und der ansprechenden Präsentation des Hotels hatte ich eine entsprechend hochwertige Unterkunft erwartet. Leider konnte das Hotel diesen Erwartungen in mehreren Punkten nicht gerecht werden. Zwar sind die zentrale Lage und das gute Frühstück positiv zu erwähnen – das war es aber leider auch schon mit den positiven Eindrücken. Besonders enttäuschend war, dass sich die Fenster im Zimmer nicht öffnen ließen. Für mich ist das ein erhebliches Manko, das den Aufenthalt spürbar beeinträchtigt hat – frische Luft gehört zum Grundkomfort, den ich bei jeder Unterkunft, insbesondere in dieser Preiskategorie, voraussetze. Hinzu kam, dass das Badezimmer an mehreren Stellen staubig war – ein klares Zeichen dafür, dass es an der nötigen Sorgfalt bei der Reinigung fehlt. Zudem ist der Wasserdruck der Toilettenspülung offenbar zu hoch, da beim Betätigen Wasser auf den Boden gespritzt ist, was nicht nur unhygienisch, sondern auch unangenehm ist. Auch die Zimmerausstattung wirkte insgesamt einfach und wenig durchdacht. Für ein Hotel in dieser Preisklasse ist das inakzeptabel. Ein weiterer Kritikpunkt betrifft die Parkplatzgebühr: Zehn Euro pro Tag wären angemessen, 14 Euro empfinde ich als überzogen und nicht gerechtfertigt. Unterm Strich zahlt man hier für ein sogenanntes Design-Hotel einen hohen Preis – doch dieser ist in keiner Weise gerechtfertigt, da Komfort, Sauberkeit und Ausstattung nicht mit dem Preisniveau mithalten können.
