We had a nice stay at Sofitel the staff was very accommodating and friendly. The rooms shower could use better water pressure and it is duvet only. Also no answer for room service and coffee is only left out til 10am - other than this we had a very nice stay but likely would not stay again.

Great location, poor customer service.

I recently stayed at the Sofitel for 4 nights. The service was poor in two key respects. First, the car valet situation is unacceptably slow despite costing close to $60 per night. Each time we needed the car it took over half an hour to get it. My other complaint is that at checkout the hotel disclosed a $28 per day “urban experience fee”. The desk clerk at checkout said the fee is a resort fee and comes with a $20/day voucher. I was not told about this fee or voucher when I checked in. Why have a surprise fee at the end to leave a bad impression with customers? Why not just provide an all-in daily cost up front? A surprise addition of $120 was not positive, and made worse by hearing that we in theory could have gotten something for it (though there is no store on the site, so the only place to use the money appears to have been in the restaurant or bar). These two experiences were a real shame because the hotel location is great and the room was comfortable.

At 5 am I was awoken by water pouring down the walls of the bathroom from the ceiling. When I called down got a response that "maintenance wasn't around so what do I want them to do" - I was concerned for my safety with electrical wiring, puddles on the floor, water pouring from the ceiling. I quickly changed and packed. When getting to the lobby, I was met with the same response. Awoken by water from the ceiling and no decency or service or refund from Sofitel. Horrible hospitality.

There were extra fees. I arrived early and was offered the room for and extra 30.00, which I accepted. Then I was charged a 29.00 a day 'events fee' which I was told I could get 20.00 of it back -per day- if I spent the money in the hotel. The breakfast buffet was very expensive, tho good, like 40.00, which didn't include coffee. It was hard to keep track of all the fees. I also asked for a list of the hotel's services and was given a QR code. I wanted a list- no go. The room was clean and quiet, the bed, comfortable.
