It’s an amazing old historic hotel. I would never stay anywhere else in downtown Phoenix. I love the hotel and have used it three times. The staff is friendly and nice. The location is great. The bars and restaurants within 5 blocks are plentiful. But the rooms are small and don’t have modern furnishings so if a guest needs a fancier place then this probably isn’t their spot.
Older hotel but clean, friendly staff. The free WiFi was worth what it cost, practically nonexistent. Had to hit a coffee house to do a work zoom. Overall it was ok. Had a certain charm
We loved the vibe of the hotel. It truly is a hidden gem. Sure, it could be updated but overall it's quirky and fun. What we didn't love is that we booked this hotel because it lists a pool (and shows pictures of it) on the website.
The pool is dry.
The deck around it is in shambles which was really disappointing. When we talked to the front desk staff about it, he says "Ya. I know. It shouldn't be on the website...."
We also weren't prepared for the rooms not to have air conditioning but that is on the website and we missed it.
The restaurant at the hotel is excellent.

It was a good value for downtown Phoenix. Wi-Fi did not work well in the room. 2 short blocks to parking garage they recommended (not a problem for us). Quiet rooms.
Native AZ. Worked downtown from 1998 to 2017. My favorite hangout was this corner. It is on sad shape today. This classic hotel needs a revamp. I hope our President does tremendously well. I love downtown PHX but not this last trip. Parking is atrocious.

The location was perfect near the convention center and close to restaurants which was very convenient. The staff was very helpful and friendly as well. The hotel had lots of character and I do appreciate the historic nature of it. The biggest drawback is that walls are so incredibly thin and you can hear conversations and next door neighbors through the wall vents in the bedroom and bathroom. Not sure how this can be mitigated but definitely bring ear plugs.
This hotel was pretty good for what i paid for. Keep this in mind the hotel is an older building. Bathrooms is not modern. Staff is amazing and went above and beyond. The beds are hard but i liked them. People have complained about the hotel being hot. Nope the hotel was cool. I sleep comfortable. Definitely want to come back to this hotel if I comeback to Phoenix
This is a charming hotel in the heart of the downtown district . My only complaint is the hard, uncomfortable pillows. Staying just one night. If my stay would have been longer, i would have asked for replacements. But the room was clean, staff friendly and the area was close to much activity.
