Decent Hotel, but not Perfect

The continental breakfast was on the sketchy side and there was black on the eggs (not sure why or what it was, but they didn't taste great). There were flys everywhere in the lobby, so not sure what that was about. Hotel hallways were a little dirty. The hotel room itself was fine, but nothing fancy. I may stay here again, but management needs to up their maintenance on the place.

At check in, no one was at the desk. I picked up the phone as instructed by a sign that was posted. The front desk lady got up from a lobby chair and said "im the one that will assist you" as she watched me walk in. Proceeded to tell me "whe had a headache and hates when people spam the phone." She was also extrememly unclean, strong body odor, sloppy and overall unprofessional. Our room was clean, but the bathroom/shower room lightbulb had burned out. My husband went to the front desk to get a replacement so he could just change it. The front desk told him she didnt know where to get lightbulbs and would have maintenance come do it when they got there, within an hour. No one came. So after camping and hunting for 2 days, we chose to take showers in the dark. The morning of checkout was great. The gal working was great at her job, cared what guests needed and ensured everyone was taken care of. She needs a raise, others need to be cut loose.

When we walked in there was a couch with a young girl overweight greasy hair playing on her phone . There was a sign that read “ pick up phone for service “ I did and then and only then did she get off the couch . We filled out one paper with all the info I gave on Expedia again . Then she gives us another page to write the same information as we just wrote so this would have been 3 times . When I remarked she could just copy the info onto other paper she replies “ I am only doing my job and I don’t need any attitude from you ! We left and went somewhere else.

Skip this Pierre hotel

Booked this hotel as we were rolling in. The pictures are misleading because the room was nice enough but the property is old and run down. The lobby and breakfast area and halls had old, worn out carpet and didn’t look very clean. We skipped breakfast because no a/c in lobby.

Check in clerk was friendly. This is a dated property. No elevator-room on second floor. Opened door to a musty/smoky smell in room-took me back to my 70’s childhood memories of traveling with my parents. Bed was comfortable. Won’t be back.

I did have a good stay but the condition of the facility was lacking. I noticed several things that we not kosher. The exercise room had laundry baskets full of laundry setting in there, the tv didn't work, things were just dirty in there. In the breakfast area, old food in the chair cushions. Bags of garbage setting in the hallway into the evening. I did notice my room was not as clean as it normally is, carpet. The second day I was there the electricity was out for a lot of the breakfast appliances. I felt sorry for the staff they could not get ahold of anyone to come and look at the electrical problem. I was just shocked at how much the hotel has gone downhill. I was told the manager is somewhere in TX starting up another hotel so she was not available. Someone needs to get some responsibility and get that place looking and working like it should. May think before staying again. I've always enjoyed staying at the Baymont, it just works for me.
