With its proximity to the unspoilt Robberg Nature Reserve, sporting facilities (including world class golf courses), shopping centres and restaurants, Bayside Lodge is the perfect base from which to explore the Garden Route and its myriad activities and attractions. Bayside is situated in a tranquil residential area with several excellent restaurants only a 6-30 minute walk from Bayside, and if required we can call a reliable taxi service for guests.

Since taking over Bayside Lodge in March 2014, owner/managers Bernie and Adrienne have created a friendly atmosphere which is both warm and elegant. Personal attention and exceeding expectations are the hallmarks of this popular lodge. Welcome briefings are given on arrival and guests are offered maps, brochures and discount vouchers for various activities, and bookings are made at recommended restaurants. Most guests enjoy the walk along Robberg beach to the superb restaurants on Central beach for dinner, and return to the lodge by taxi.

Scrumptious breakfasts are served in the elegant dining room or patio overlooking the tranquil garden. The continental buffet offers a wide selection of fruit, cereal, yoghurt, cold meat, cheese, muffins, croissants and toast. Cooked breakfasts are prepared to order by our cheerful ladies Martha and Ntombi, and packed breakfasts are available on request for guests departing early.

Nestled in a secluded corner of the garden is a sparkling salt water swimming pool with umbrellas and comfortable pool loungers. The well-established garden is a tranquil place to relax and watch the great variety of birds visiting the bird feeders and bird baths.

Bayside's comfortable double volume guest lounge with under-floor heating and fireplace is perfect for relaxing and browsing through books or planning your next holiday. There is a large flat screen television with full DSTV satellite channels and DVD player, a library as well as board games. Sundowners are enjoyed at the bar or on the patio, which also has a barbecue for guests to use. We offer complimentary wifi throughout the lodge - this includes Finch Cottage which has its own router.

Bayside's suites are all different with their own individual theme and feel, offering various options for guests. The three suites upstairs in the main house include Honeysuckle which has a Jacuzzi spa bath and shower in the en suite bathroom, Harmony which is our biggest suite with its own sitting room and divan bed and Sunkissed which offers two bedrooms and one bathroom - perfect for a small group or family. Finch Cottage is located in the garden near the swimming pool and has a kitchen and sitting room with its own patio and barbecue.

All suites have flat screen televisions, small fridges, tea/coffee making facilities, bathrobes, bathroom amenities, electronic safes, fans, heaters, snack baskets and mini bars. Families are welcome - Finch Cottage is available for parents with children under six and we do have a cot. Finch Cottage can be booked as self-catering or bed & breakfast. There is off street parking for all our guests inside our electric gate and the property is covered by CCTV.

We recommend a two or three night stay in order to enjoy the beaches, Robberg Nature Reserve, the Plett wine route and the various animal, bird and primate sanctuaries at The Crags. Day trips combining Knysna and Sedgefield or Natures Valley, Tsitsikamma and Storms River are also a must!

Free breakfast is served. WiFi is free in public spaces. A hot tub, barbecue grills, and a garden are also featured at the family-friendly 3 minutes walk to Robberg beach.
