Beautiful rooms and close to harbor and restaurants. On our ten day trip to Maine, we stayed here for two days, five days in Bar Harbor, then back to Portland Harbor Hotel before flying out. Will return!!!

A $35 daily fee was recently imposed. Was not happy with that. Plus $40 per day for parking made our stay over $400 per day. Nice place, but excessive cost. It was our third and last stay at this hotel.

Great location for nearby restaurants, and shops, have stayed here before, but this was the first time we went out to the courtyard and enjoyed a drink, and also sat by the fire at night. My only ding on the hotel was there were some old cushions that they probably could’ve removed from view of the guests enjoying the courtyard but by now maybe they’ve been removed. The location is fantastic.

Beautiful facility, great staff, watch for the fee

Five stars for the facility and staff. The girl at the front desk was fantastic. Everyone smiles and says hello. The rooms are outstanding. I gave five stars because of the people. Unfortunately I cannot give five stars to management. They have a $35 resort fee. This is not a resort! Yes you get a credit toward their restaurant. Their restaurant has the worst reviews in the City so I am not interested until they fix it. Resort fees are an annoyance at a resort - but have no place here. if you want to encourage people to use your restaurant just raise the price of the room by $35, and give a meal credit. The girl at the front desk did a tremendous job handling me on the resort fee issue. She explained the value. I was not angry but said I would never have booked the hotel if I realized it. She removed the fee with no problem and kept her cool the entire time. The way she handled the issue is why we are still five stars!

The only thing I liked was the proximity to the harbor. Easy walk. As for what I did NOT like... the room was very small and the windows were separated by an outcrop which took up much of the space in the room. The room was nothing like pictured, had no comfortable seating to lounge on unless you sit on the bed. You had to walk sideways on on eside of the bed to get to the head of it because of the wall. On the other side, you get up from the bed and are faced with the other wall. Cramped, not relaxing. It was less than the luxury that was portrayed. I undersatnd it is a historic harbor area, but I was not ready to feel like I was in the middle of a city life. There was noone to help with luggage to and from room, the Bistro had very few offerings, and the outside area was closed from 11-3 so there was no real place to simply chill. Definately not what I had expected.

The staff were friendly and super helpful. The location of this property is perfect for walking around downtown and visiting the Old Port area. The atmosphere was great. There’s a beautiful patio/garden and self serve pantries on each floor. I had a great stay and would definitely stay here again.

The hotel was in a great location, and we brought our two dogs. It was very quiet. My only complaint is that there is no fan in the bathroom, and the pillows were all feather and lacked foam options.

Very walkable, didn’t need to rent a car. Loved the pantry on each floor, such a cute touch. They have a weird $35/ night fee that can be waived if you spend money dining there. Make sure to ask what you’re being charged to the room because I got charged double one time. Front desk staff 24/7 was nice for an early check out for our flight. They are very attentive and will text to ask how your stay is and will address any issues
