BEWARE, it’s cheaper for a reason! Tru is a beautiful hotel that is off the main stretch of airport hotels at PDX, Portland Oregon. They offer shuttle service to and from the hotel to the airport. HOWEVER. IF YOU ARE FLYING OUT and wish to park your car at the hotel while you are away, this is not the place! The hotel is gated, and they charge $10 per night for parking — but ONLY on the nights you stay there. Once you check out, you must park elsewhere. There are a couple of parking lots that you can take your car to, and they are within walking distance of the hotel — just remember that you are in Portland! It rains here. A lot! Another word to the wise: if you do stay at Tru, be sure to get your ticket validated *as soon as you enter the hotel*. Although they state that someone is at the front desk 24/7, when we checked out (left our key) at 5am to go to the airport there was no one there. Had we not gotten it validated the night before, we would have been required to pay another $10 to get out of the parking lot. The room is clean and nice, but the hassle of the parking situation was not worth it. We ended up taking our car to airport parking. Next time we will go back to Aloft, where there is free parking during your stay and paid parking while you travel. Happy travels!

Bed is so comfy and the sheets are sooo nice and soft. I’m picky about my pillows and had zero problems here. The breakfast was great, the robot pancake maker is a great conversation starter.
