The hotel was clean and in a central place to stay... Bed was awful and had to ask to be changed to another room at 23.30 hours.. To be fair, they moved us straight away to a different room. The bed was a little bit better but not the best considering the hotel is a 4☆... if the hotel had of been full(as it was the next night) and they couldn't move us to a different room i definitely wouldn't have slept!!

Excellent Location

The Hotel has an excellent location, and is a impressive historic stone built building. It has a complex internal layout and it would be helpful if you were given a layout plan on arrival. The buffet breakfast had some good chesses, breads and a fine selection of local cakes. Our room only had one window which only had a view of the back of another building. The 'King sized bed' booked was two single beds pushed together, but made up as singles with very hard mattresses.

Staff was lovely! The hotel itself is beautiful and easy to find. We loved the location, easy walking and many food options near by. We will definitely be back to this hotel when we’re in Porto again!

Quick check in and out. Overall quality and cleanliness was very good. On site bar and restaurant were both good. Only complaint was the hardness of the bed mattress. After sleeping on one of the hardest mattress I have experienced for 5 nights, it will take some time for my back to fully recover.

The location being near the river was really nice. We enjoyed walking across the bridge and stopping at all of the vendors. We were within walking distance of many places but when our destination was too far we had the convenience of the taxi stand right across the street. The hotel itself was beautiful, clean and comfortable. There were many sitting areas throughout the main level. Breakfast was delicious and had plenty of variety. The bar was a favorite spot to hang out most nights and the bartender was excellent. The bed was a lot firmer than I like but I slept well each night. The room size was generous as were the amount of outlets. I would definitely stay again.

Beautiful hotel in good location

Loved the location of the hotel. Room was lovely and comfortable although a little dark. Staff were friendly and helpful as well as being knowledgeable about the products they served. Food in the restaurant was delicious and the drinks menu varied. The only thing the hotel could improve on was staff numbers. On an evening, only one serving at the bar so often we'd be waiting a while to get served while the took their break or do a room service order.

Very well located at the bottom of the hills by the river. You can walk up the hills or get the tram which is 100m away or get a taxi from across the road.
