We had a wonderful stay at Timbre Virtudes. The hotel is is situated in a beautifully restored building that adds history and charm to your stay. From the moment we checked in the staff was courteous, helpful, and warm. We were in a rush to get to a tour and they did everything possible to get us there on time. When it was time to unfortunately depart, our Uber ended up coming to the end of the street that the hotel was located on. Without hesitating, staff helped us carry our luggage all the way down the cobblestone street and made sure we were situated before leaving. All in all, I highly recommend staying here for your Porto experience!

Very nice hotel, only a short walk to the centre of town, Ribiera district etc. but nicely out of the crowds. Very welcoming staff. Breakfast buffet is ok, and freshly cooked options (although these were not well advertised). Would stay here again.

Beautiful once you’re inside. The surroundings are typical for an older neighborhood. Staff were very nice and accommodating. There is no parking, so you have to figure that out elsewhere. (Kinda stressful & pricy.) Don’t charge anything to the room, as it will include a 6 euro tax. My partner’s 3 euro coffee, ended up being 9 euro! We were not informed that there would be this extra charge on each food purchase or we would’ve just paid right then. Internet connection was also always an issue. It is a very nice hotel, otherwise.

Outstanding Lead

This is an excellent choice and a fantastic place to stay. Conveniently located—just a 5-minute walk to main roads—yet peacefully tucked away from the city noise. The building is outstanding, with impressive interiors and a superb hotel experience overall. The staff are truly amazing and wonderfully attentive. Breakfast is excellent, though it could be further improved by offering more healthy options, especially a wider selection of fresh fruits.

This was a beautiful stay in Porto! The room was magnificent with a gorgeous balcony, great food and wonderful people. If you want to avoid the noise of the tourists, this is perfect! The checkin is a bit difficult but they do their best to make it easy. I highly recommend this hotel for a romantic getaway!

Unfortunately, my experience at this hotel was not a pleasant one. It was extremely noisy throughout the night, making it nearly impossible to get any sleep. The breakfast was also well below my expectations in terms of quality and variety. Additionally, I noticed some staff members standing around chatting instead of attending to guests, which added to the overall lack of professionalism.

My only comment is the shower isn’t a good layout — the water drains all over the bathroom. Also, the coffee provided in the room is not adequate — a version of drip something that steeps like a tea, it’s not a real coffee. Otherwise, I loved this property.

Beautiful hotel, beautiful rooms - the hotel was perfect. The rooftop bar was very nice, and very friendly staff. We enjoyed the property - getting to the property is a different story but that has to do with the inherited location - Porto - such a hilly and old city - very narrow roads, not accessible by car.

Great hotel, but they weren't very accommodating.

Great hotel, but they weren't very accommodating. I asked if it was possible to have breakfast 15 mins earlier than the breakfast start at 730am as I had to meet a day trip group, and the lady told me that it wasn't possible, just after she said that it would all be set up anyway by 715am. I also had to change my travel plans and asked for the third night of my booking to be refunded which the hotel refused even though they told me it was a refundable room rate. Disappointing. Be warned that not all Ubers/ taxis will drive down the narrow lane to get to the hotel, so you may have to walk across bumpy cobbles with your luggage to get to the front entrance. Hotel is great, roof terrace is lovely, breakfast is delicious.

Amazing second stay! We returned to Porto just to have the pleasure of staying here again, we were bit disappointed. Ongoing outstanding service, with special touches and treats in the room to acknowledge our return patronage. One of the most unique hotels we’ve ever stayed at. Lobby bar and lounge was a lovely spot to unwind at the end of the day. Highly recommend this hotel!

Love the historic feel of the building. Breakfast was delicious. We had a patio room and enjoyed sitting outside. There is a slight trek up the hill to access the entrance, but that’s par for the course in Porto!

Beautiful hotel, the staff were very polite and attentive and is easy to get to key areas while located in a quiet neighborhood. I’m not usually a breakfast person, but it was excellent! Room service was good but the €10 charge seemed a bit excessive. I highly recommend staying here and would come back for my next stay in Porto if you’re looking for a more elevated experience.
