As you arrive, a bridge guides you through a canopy of magnificent Yayo trees — the very inspiration behind the villa’s award-winning design. The architect’s vision was to seamlessly integrate Perla Negra into this natural forest setting, creating a living experience where architecture and nature become one.
The L-shaped design creates two distinct outdoor living areas on the main floor, each offering its own unique ocean perspective — so every guest finds their perfect spot.
Your outdoor living space:
The centerpiece is the spectacular 4-sided infinity pool, complete with a built-in seating area and wide sun-bathing edges. Enjoy a game of billiards or catch your favorite game on the outdoor TV. The fully equipped outdoor kitchen features a full-size fridge, BBQ and dishwasher — perfect for poolside dining at the large table, or lazy afternoons on the sun-beds.
Your indoor living space:
Expansive patio doors open fully to the ocean breeze, or screen in for those quieter evenings. The high-end kitchen — complete with a Jura coffee machine — is as suited to your own culinary adventures as it is to watching Chef Erik work his magic. Here, the Yayo trees press close to the glass, giving this space an entirely different, more intimate feel.
At the far end of the property, a stunning natural point overlooks the entire coastline — the perfect place to end your days with cocktails and spectacular Pacific sunsets.
The upper floor:
Six spacious bedrooms, all with ensuite bathrooms, king-size beds, built-in closets and dedicated desk areas. One room features a king-size bunk bed — ideal for a couple on the lower bunk or as the perfect kids and teens retreat. The two end rooms serve as master suites with wraparound corner patio doors. Every room is finished with luxury linens, bath towels, hair dryers and Bluetooth charging speakers. Organic Costa Rican soaps, shampoo, conditioner and body lotion are provided throughout.

Playa Carrillo — one of Costa Rica’s most pristine and untouched beaches — is just a 5-minute drive and the perfect morning walk ritual. A hidden secret beach is only one minute from your front door. The village of Puerto Carrillo offers a convenient local store and great takeout options for easy lunches. Just 12 minutes up the coast, the vibrant town of Samara has everything you need — beachside restaurants, a wonderful organic Saturday market, boutique shopping, grocery stores, pharmacies and banks.
Your team:
Alexandra, our gracious live-in caretaker, prepares a delicious breakfast each morning and keeps the villa immaculately clean around your schedule — always with fresh towels at the ready. She lives in her own completely separate apartment, with a private entrance, ensuring your privacy is fully preserved at all times. Anggie, our co-host, is with you from booking to departure — coordinating Chef Erik’s meals, arranging in-home massages and yoga classes, and connecting you with Pierre before you even land. Pierre, our dedicated concierge, handles everything from car and shuttle rentals to every outdoor excursion Costa Rica has to offer.
