They welcomed us with margarita popsicle. Room was nice. Clean and 24 hours room cleaning service. Staff are nice. Food was okay. I would give 8/10. They didnot have much activities through out the days. Overall it was good.

Pool was unheated so very cold in the winter months should be heaters we paid extra for a swim up room but could not use at all Ran out of basic items like bacon tonic water and wine All the restaurants to book were full but when you turn turned up they were lots of tablets empty

Overall, I would rate my stay an 8 out of 10! The staff were super friendly and helpful and always made sure that whatever I needed I got. My only issue with this resort is that, no one could explain to us how the “resort credit” work. We had a $500 resort credit and we were told by the front desk staff to reach out to the spa (where the credit could be spent) cool took the paper to the spa and the Rep (super nice) explained it. So depending on the service (I got and mani & Pedi and my partner for a facial) how it was explained that amount for those services were listed $30 for the mani and $30 for the pedi, $80 or $90 was for the facial. Got the services and we went to enjoy the rest of the day. On the day of check out, the front desk agent was like we have a $197.00 credit for the spa services and we were puzzled cause the “resort credit” was suppose to cover the services. Apparently it doesn’t, contacted the spa only for them to now inform us that the “$500 resort credit” is a discount. To date I am still confused how is that possible and how is $500 credit a discount? We’ve asked numerous of works to explain that to us, but no at the hotel could explain it. I would say to whomever is going here to ignore the resort credit cause it was a total scam. That dampened my interest in ever going back and staying to this place cause I felt I was robbed. Ended up paying almost $300 CAD to cover that charge! Big scam!!

This hotel is clean but there is no beach, no activities in other words boring. We went to the Mayan ruins. They told us we would have 2 hrs travel to destination. It took 4 hours. Other things as well. Manager rude. Stay somewhere else.

We spent four nights at Margaritaville and found it to be a beautiful resort with great room accommodations. Our room was cleaned every day, and we appreciated having plenty of water bottles stocked in our fridge. The staff was very friendly and helpful. Since my husband and I enjoy spending time by the pool, this resort was perfect for us. However, if you prefer a beach, this may not be the right choice for you. We thoroughly enjoyed the steakhouse, but making dinner reservations at reasonable times was quite challenging, so it's best to organize those as soon as you arrive. Overall, we give the resort a rating of 4 out of 5, primarily because there was no beach and not many à la carte restaurant options.

We had a wonderful stay at this hotel. Everything was very clean, beautiful, and well maintained. The staff was absolutely amazing — friendly, attentive, and always ready to help. We especially appreciated that the hotel is well secured, which made us feel safe and comfortable throughout our stay. The buffet was another highlight: the staff provided excellent service, always welcoming and attentive to guests. Overall, a fantastic experience, and we would happily return and recommend this hotel to others.

My wife and I visited Jan 7-12 , 2025. So the biggest issue for us is that there was absolutely NO Direct Beach Access on the property. They lost their beach during their last hurricane. - Pro’s: Nice resort overall, we stayed on the 4th floor with our own Pool and Ocean View. -The Steak House food was Amazing and our server went above and beyond for us. I wish I could remember his name because he was amazing. -Different Theme Night for dinner: Caribbean Night where the staff performs during dinner -Room service was pretty good -overall staff was very welcoming and friendly - You get points that you can use, unfortunately we didn’t know that we can use them in the coffee shop until the last evening. -CONS: - NO Direct Beach Access - Not a lot of Variety in regards to Resturant's -The entertainment at the pool was okay. They definitely need more especially since this is an Adults Only Resort - The Restaurant options are slim and they close early ( should be able to get more food options on the late night menus) - You must make reservations for dinner days in advance at the concierge desk during certain times -The app is not as functional as you would expect. It doesn’t allow you make reservations via the app. The night life options are slim.

We had a pleasant stay at Margaritaville! The check-in process was easy. The room was spacious and super clean. Amenities are as described. The breakfast buffet was great. They have different cuisine each day at The Boathouse. Landshark was good for drinks and apps. Reservations are required at the steakhouse and the Italian restaurant. We had the opportunity to have dinner at the Italian restaurant and it was delicious. They have different activities throughout the resort. Needless to say, the staff works incredibly hard especially at the restaurants and bars. Kudos to the team on their commitment and energy in making sure each guest is cared for. The bartenders at the Salted Rim are so talented! The employees are really nice and warm. We truly enjoyed our stay.

The room was clean and in good condition, and the pool area was nice. The food was just okay, nothing special. A big downside was how difficult it was to make dinner reservations at the restaurants - it was very frustrating. The biggest negative for me was the lack of a beach. When I booked the hotel online, it was advertised as being on the beach, but there is no beach at all. This hotel may be fine for people who enjoy pools. But for those who prefer the beach,it’s not a good choice. I would not return.

Beautiful resort. There's no beach however, even without beach access, I give it a 10/10. My husband and I had an amazing 10 day vacation at this resort. I dont know why anyone would leave a negative review. I never write reviews, but this place is a gem.

I’m giving Margaritaville Island Reserve Riviera Maya three stars, mainly based on comparison. If this had been my first visit, I likely would have rated it four or even five stars. However, having stayed here before, it’s clear the overall quality has been reduced compared to what the resort used to offer. The biggest downgrade is the alcohol selection. In the past, Jack Daniel’s was available throughout the resort. It’s now gone, and the overall alcohol quality has noticeably declined. Food quality has also slipped. At the LandShark Bar & Grill, the LandShark burger used to feel like a fresh meat patty; now it looks and tastes like a frozen, industrial pre-made patty. The removal of the nacho tower is another disappointment — it used to be a fun standout feature and has been replaced by a basic plate of nachos. We also had issues getting reservations. We were never able to secure a spot at the steakhouse, so we didn’t get to eat there at all due to lack of availability. On the positive side, the resort is still very clean and well maintained, and the property remains in great shape. The lack of a beach was expected and not an issue. Finally, the Joe Merchant store has changed for the worse. You used to be able to redeem points for many items; now the selection is very limited, with most items requiring payment. Overall, the resort is still pleasant, but the noticeable downgrades make it hard to justify a higher rating.

Rooms are outstanding, resort is spotless, staff is great. If you are into the Jimmy Buffett lifestyle and want to chill this resort is fantastic. If you are into clubbing and a late night life then I would look somewhere else.

Lovely resort! Service from staff was great, everything was very clean, food was good, spa service was enjoyable, pools were nice and clean. Would be better if there was a hot tub and 1-2 more restaurants. If you go to bed before 1am, don't get a room near the Landshark brewery!

The rooms were emaculate, no musty smell. The resort is the perfect size to just chill, you can get from one end to the other in less than 5 minute walk. Food was incredible, didnt need the ala carte as the buffet had great variety and delicious but the steakhouse and Italian were pretty amazing. Staff were super friendly and helpful. Wonderful time, will go back for sure
