Got the premium level package - room was really, nice great views of the ocean, resort was clean. female staff at the premium lounge is very unfriendly. We had upgraded to the premium stay; and she wouldn’t acknowledge me; boyfriend needed up going in to get drinks. It was hard to get drinks around the pool; wasn’t great the swim up bar was only in the kid zone and not one in the adult only pool. Restraunt (buffet) was hit or miss with the staff; multiple times we were there they didn’t even acknowledge us. Oscar (Restraunt, buffet) was amazing he was helpful polite great attitude; more people like him around the resort would have made the trip better. A la carte - food was great staff really friendly. Booking the restaurant was a different sorry, concierge was there from 9 to 5 but they wouldn’t take our booking till the next day even though we’re there at 2pm and said their computers could only book Sunday - Saturday (we arrived on Saturday; so we could not book anything until Sunday.

I thought the towel card was odd. Each guest had to check out one pool towel at a time and someone grabbed one of ours off our chair most likely because they lost theirs. We had to pay $40 at checkout for a ratty towel we didn't take.

Had a great time at Barcelo. There’s just a few things that need improvement. The food wasn’t the greatest and didn’t get to eat at any of the restaurants. A table of 4 was reserved and we had 1 add on but they said aboslultey not. It was for my father’s birthday so that was disappointing. Music plays extremely loud until 1-2am so it was hard to sleep every night. There was mold all over the curtains in the room I stayed in. The drinks were extremely watered down. Tasted like no alcohol, very watery. Beach was okay. It was shared with locals and tons of boats in the water. Postivie: Only about 20-25 minutes from Downtown. Staff was very friendly and easy check in.

I think this place was average food was ok, service was ok, the pool was ok. For kids that are 3 to 4 feet tall, to be in the pool you need someone with them at all times because of the height of the pool. Theu have a kids pool but that is for kids under 2 years old. Overall nothing special everything was average, nothing that i can say i loved or would go back.

Quiet and well managed. Didn’t have to fight a crowd at 5am to get a lounge chair at the pool like you do at some resorts. Food was fairly good, some nights were better than others. Breakfast options were great and good coffee. Get there before 10am to beat the crowd. We only dined at one of the specialty restaurants. It was good but nothing to write home about - but nice for options. Wish the pool was open later, they shut it down at 8pm. Would be nice if it was open till 9 or 10pm because it was definitely still warm out. Grounds were beautiful. Rooms were clean and comfortable. Easy to get a taxi to town. Excursions were easily accessible

Overall we really enjoyed our stay at this property. Unfortunately we didn’t receive all the amenities that we were supposed to like our fridge being stocked with beverages daily and had to ask for our complimentary robes but hey, we can’t really complain because all the staff was extremely friendly and accommodating and the property was very beautiful and well maintained. We’re not really buffet fans but the specialty restaurants were amazing and the nightly shows and other entertainers were fantastic! We would definitely recommend this resort and will most likely return for another visit in the future.

Let me tell you what I LOVE! The staff especially Rene, Alan, Samuel, Jasmine and the week day chef who made me a tres leches cake fory birthday and the staff sang Happy birthday. This place is amazing and we are planning to return. I already suggested to my niece that they should honeymoon here. Is it possible to give a 10 star review? Because they deserve it!!
