Last time we are going there. We were told we had 24hr room service and when i called around 10pm they told me i didn't. I needed to order food for a friend who was feeling sick and they didn't want to help us or accommodate us. They told me the kitchen was closed fir us and only available for gold bracelets.

The hotel was clean and everyone was pleasant. The food was amazing and so many choices! The pool is large and the kids spent most of the time swimming, such a fun time! The beds were comfortable except we found a giant cockroach in our room one day. The cleaners repeatedly also only brought 3 towels everyday even though there was four of us. We tipped extra for another towel and it ws back to 3 the next day. They also didn’t bring toilet paper for the last few days so we were ripping through the facial tissue paper after a bout of food poising (from off resort). Gross hahaha. The room was also way too hot and after i commented on it, the maintenence man came up and fiddled with stuff and said it was fixed...it was not. It was 25-26 even after he left, we just suffered through it. Not ideal but we still had a blast!

Probably one of the worst resorts I’ve ever stayed in. Rooms were nasty. The buffet had a poor selection of food and wasn’t big at all.. entertainment sucked. For what I paid for this resort for seven days, it was not worth even half of it.

La primera habitación que nos dieron fue un “ascenso” de la que reservé, según el personal del hotel. Fue una habitación muy, muy sucia. Las cortinas tenía manchas bastante grandes y marcadas, las paredes y techo también mostraban suciedad. La televisión se apagaba sin que nosotros lo hiciéramos. Es un hotel viejo, sin renovaciones y se nota. Aunque estaba sucio, lo pasamos, pero el gran problema fueron los otros detalles siguientes: La ventana de una de los baños estaba quebrada, de hecho le faltaba un vidrio. La ventana de una de las recámaras estaba estrellada y uno de los empaques de alrededor estaba roto. Las cortinas de las habitaciones no cerraban en su totalidad lo que resultaba en mucha luz aunque tuviéramos la luz apagada y además estaban desenganchadas de la parte de arriba. Una de las persianas de la cocina está an rotas y le faltaban tablas. Pedimos que nos cambiaran la habitación y accedieron, nos dijeron que nos dieron otro “ascenso.” En esta habitación no tuvimos mayor inconveniente. El control de la televisión no funcionó, las cortinas de la sala no estaban enganchadas, y la habitación no cuenta con renovaciones. El personal fue amable, hay opciones de comida, en el bufet me pareció que a la comida le falta sazón. Hay piscina para niños.

Food:There are not 4 restaurants available all the time. There is only one buffet with semi good food. It’s small, they do not replace items in a timely manner. The drinks are water down and hot. The desserts and bread are not appealing are extremely dry. Even the Mexican options are not tasteful. The only delicious menu items are the fruit and the made to offer items (omelets and speciality food). Please note: there are no designated foods for small children. If your child is a picky eater do not come here. They didn’t even have bananas or oranges available. Pools: the pools across the buffet bar are clean and well kept. There is one pool in front of the receptionist desk and that one is outdated with tanning chairs being torn. Hotel room Provided bare minimum of items. They had no running hot water in our room. When we let them know they said it was down and could take up to week and they said they would let us take a shower in another room (was not offered to switch rooms until our last night which by then we declined) and then had to return the key back after each use. We also had a tv with no control. No smoke detectors in any rooms. The electricity in the rooms are tied to the light stands (only lighting in rooms-once the sun goes down you can’t really see anything) so once you turn it off, any items plugged in are also turned off. WIFI-no WiFi was available until the last night of our stay. It was disappointing since we had work and items to look through.

We were surprised when we arrived that our rooms were damaged by a storm, traveling with 10 it took awhile for them to sort out where we were sleeping. We were with cold water all week, and limited dinning. I hope that when they are fully up and running the experience would be different.

We stayed 3 weeks in march. We had my husbands celebration of life in puerto vallarta. He just wanted to go back 1 more time. We love puerto vallarta and its people been coming fir ivr 20 yrs. 1st time at canto del dol. All 22 of us. Where to start. I email months ahead foe a month centrally located and possible ground floor worh balcony. We paid for controlling ac fridge refill daily the other extras. Got in early but no checking til 2ish. Your bags sit in lobby. Not in secure room. Anyone can grab your luggage. We book partial ocean with perks. 1st room was way in 300s and a wall view. Way too far too walk for someone with bad knees. 8Surgeries. Next day mived us to to 105. King size bed and they would bring us a cot. 10 pm at night i went myself and got cot then we begged for linens. About 1140 pm finally got to bed. A/c died. Maintainence couldnt fix. Not like we could open patio door for air ,we didnt have a screen. Our room was 28c. Horribly hot. Finally i got to someone who would finally listen, chris, head guy apparently of guest relation. back up to 3rd floor but we oceanview room and we were suppose to be able to contol temp.not. now no fridge not getting fridge stocked,really..we had room attached to suite.Just open to ajoining door Not hard.Finally,we got door open and they added us to list to refill fridge. THEN people on other side came into our room roaming about. Last straw. They screwed door shut from our side. Nationals treated like royalty. Never again
