I love staying at the Krystal Grand, however there are a few things that I think need attention. The sports bar desperately needs new tables and chairs. And around the pool and by the taco stand there needs to be new tables and chairs. Otherwise, the place is great!

Very much average property and nothing special about this property. Multiple issues, such as many staff members did not speak English at all. Whenever we ask them something, they reply with yes, but then they will never deliver their services. We had to request them multiple times about things we have already asked them to deliver. Very average and mediocre food options in buffet. Limited restaurant options as well. We stayed there for six night, but we ate at their restaurants only two nights. Even worst was their alcohol collection. Very cheap alcohol collection and horrible cocktails. Even cheaper whiskeys such as black label, 12 years old Chivas Regal, Jack Daniels, etc. were not available to guests and only available to their prestigious guests with black bands. How cheap!

I WAS LOCKED IN MY BATHROOM FOR 30 MINUTES!!! The bathroom door lock was not working. I took a shower and then was unable to exit my bathroom. Thank God, my husband was there so that I did not die in the bathroom. My husband called the front desk and they said that they would come fix it. However, it took them 15 minutes. Once the man came to fix the door, he could not get it and left my room for an additional 15 minutes. When he came back. He simply broke the door handle so that he could get me out. I then asked a manager to come to my room to discuss it with me and after they told me they would come to my room multiple times they never did. So I went down to the front desk and the manager, Jorge, told me that it did not sound like an emergency so they did not rush. He also told me that I needed to calm down and come back and talk to him at another time, although I tried to have the conversation in my room and he refused to come to my room and said that managers don’t usually do that to which I responded, do managers typically lock people in their bathrooms for 30 minutes? I will NOT return to this hotel. HORRID MANAGEMENT SERVICES.

The property itself is very beautiful to look at. The greenery is very nice. Pools are great and it was nice to have an adult only pool. Nice beach area as well. Staff was mostly nice and a few genuinely seemed to enjoy their jobs. Property can up short in many other ways though. Really bad cell reception and the wifi/internet rarely worked with any kind of consistency. You have to make reservations for each restaurant except the buffet. You have to plan a couple of days in advance to make reservations and the meals we had at the restaurants were good. The check in process is a bit odd. There is a check-in area in the main lobby but if you have a room other than a standard room then they take you to a room in the lower levels and the process is a bit lengthy. Each guest is given a colored armband and we couldn’t really figure out why except that it mattered what type of liquor the bartenders would serve you. On that topic the drinks are very watered down. Quite a bit of maintenance is needed around the property to structural items but that is easy to overlook. And lastly cleanliness. Plenty of workers constantly mopping, sweeping, and organizing. Biggest issue I saw a couple of times is the trash that guests left on the beach the evening before and just didn’t get cleaned up by staff. In general it’s an OK property if you can overlook the age and other little quirks of the property. Its location is great and the beach is beautiful.

Enjoyed a great 5-night stay an Krystal Grand in Nuevo Vallarta. Our ocean-front room had a great view, clean, and provided plenty of room. The buffet restaurant was always excellent with good variety. We also ate at two of the specialty restaurants (reservations required), and enjoyed them. The pools were clean, and not overly crowded. The staff was friendly and helpful.

Overall I enjoyed my stay at the Krystal. Here’s the good-overall property was maintained beautifully and the adult pool and washroom facilities were maintained perfectly. I loved the activities and the staff were amazing. The bars were stocked with a good assortment of drinks and alcohol and the bartenders were always friendly and accommodating. Here’s the “opportunities”-our room was very run down and needed a refresh and the housecleaning staff did the bare minimum to keep our room clean. Overall the food was just okay. We couldn’t get any reservations in the restaurants other than the Mexican cafe and we had to eat at 10:00. The buffet was hit and miss. Some days it was really good and some days it wasn’t. That being said I could always find something to eat. Overall I felt that there were too many people in the resort as at one point we had to wait a 1/2 hour to get a table(especially in the morning). Overall 4/5 stars. Thank you to all of the staff who made our stay very memorable.

We stayed here for 4 nights, although the staff was very friendly and attentive, what I didn't like was the food choices, mostly it was on repeat. And for the 2/4 nights we stayed there they had the music so loud with DJ by the pool area up until 10pm. It was terrible when you have a baby with you and wanting to also sleep early!! we couldn't sleep until they stopped playing the music at 10pm, I even have to ask the front lobby and they were just ignoring my request. I usually do not complained but the loudness was just ridiculous!!! specially it was a family friendly hotel resort not an only adult result, they should be thinking of those families who have younger children that wants to relax

Overall very nice however the music and loudness at night and late at night is TOO loud. Noise should subside after 9pm and not go until 12AM. The view of the property is very nice, and most staff but not all are very friendly.
