The staff is amazing. Ana in the buffet is super attentive so was the waitress Gloria. the front desk staff was also really nice when we checked in. Unfortunately the staff is the best part of this Resort I wish there was an adult only pool an actual authentic Mexican food my room was nice but overall we enjoyed staying at a sister property our previous trip. Please make sure to keep all your items together upon checking in I had my jacket on my luggage and didn't notice it was missing till the day before we left I asked the Bell hop and my friend desk and it was nowhere to be found. While we were there the food was overall okay we just wish there was more authentic Mexican food. The beach was nice

Our kids had fun and the restaurant spaces were nice if you could get in. Our room was terrible. We went into our very basic room to find a toilet leaking water all over the floor… then the sink wouldn’t drain water… we asked to switch rooms and they told us we’d have to check out & then wait for 4 hours until check in with kids… no apology. Only one outlet worked then our internet and phone stopped working… when we walked down to front desk again no apology & the attitude was we were somehow inconveniencing the staff? It was absolutely nuts. Don’t go with kids and if you expect and level of quality… we have low standards but plumbing seems sorta basic

I wish this property would provide shuttle to the airport, shuttle for local tour, and shuttle to other RIU properties. Overall, we had a pleasant stay at RIU Vallarta. We'll definitely come back and visit again.

The property was nice. The staff and food were terrible. The staff was often rude to customers. The buffet was very cheap food and not many choices. The other restaurants had also very cheap food and worst service. Overall, the hotel is very nice, but it could use some work on the the staff and the food.

Caution when booking here! I purchase 6 rooms after arriving they only gave me 5 rooms and even he had the nerve to say I was short on payment for one extra guest and charge me another 500 at the counter I pretty much spent my whole day back-and-forth to the counter, speaking to many managers. It was only after several hours the mistake was realized they did refund my $500 overcharge and eventually give me my six room and apologize but by this time it was past 8 PM and the pools had already closed and we had yet to even unpack since we were missing a room so that whole first day was completely ruined. The resort refused to give me my money back, and Expedia has yet to even compensate me. The resort told me since I booked through a third-party to take it up with them and Expedia is telling me I’m sorry the resort is not wanting to do nothing so I spent my money for that first day just to stand at the counter for hours talking with several people to prove the mistake was on their part without any financial compensation of any kind use caution if you’re going to this resort and use even more caution if you’re booking with Expedia.

1 night a drunk guy woke us up in the morning wrong door.2 night the hotel alarm woke us up in the morning it was on and off for 30 m. The last day we were there nobody cleaned the room called the service desk asking for towels and to get cleaned the room but they informed me the housekeeper leave at 4 around 3 they came but we were taking the shower so I told the lady to come back in 30 m we finished getting ready went down to eat and came back she never came 15 m after we were back she came back to clean the room so told her no because we were getting ready to back our luggage. Also one dayat the buffet ask the woman cook if she can make me 1 scrambled egg for my son she send me to another lady I went and them she told me to go back with her and they started arguing between them and nobody could make it and another day during lunch the waitresses was supposed to bring me napkins and I waited 01 m sh never came so I went to get more food from the buffet cam back my table was already clean and someone purse was there I told the waitress and she blame me because I didn't left nothing on the table. I told her I was waiting for her and the napkins. I did made a complaint.

I didn’t live they didn’t have a self serve laundry service. Also experience a false alarm fire alarm in the middle of the night that kinda sucked. But overall the beach was lovely the food was good and it was relaxing.

Bartender inside the lobby, Teresa, was excellent, super friendly, talkative, great service. Rooms were cleaned daily, new towels & sheets as well.
